Why did you join ACG?
I had been an ACG member prior to selling my first company, Allied Computer Group. After attending the Leadership Conferences every year, I really wanted to re-connect with my friends and colleagues in the ACG community.

How has ACG WI helped you in your career?
Two ways mainly. First is the education. Whether it is the outstanding speakers at the Leadership conference or hearing the stories from the Growth and Leadership award winners, the shared wisdom is outstanding. Second are the members. We have such an outstanding group of members, it’s always a pleasure and honor to be with ACG members.

What lessons have you learned during the pandemic that you think you will carry over in the long term?
Adaptability = Survival. Many of my clients and Vistage members had to quickly pivot their business model to survive during the last year. I did also by starting a boutique Executive Search firm called “The Leader Hunter”. It was my sense that people were going to be much more “career mobile” in the future. And I have met many executives who were in lousy career situations but were biding their time in 2020. It’s been really satisfying helping leaders find a home in the right organization.

What do you do for fun?
Anything that involves a motorcycle or is in Italy. I once ran a “Go-to-Meeting” doing 80 mph on my Ducati Motorcycle. (I have promised my wife never to do that again). I have traveled to Italy with the great folks at Harken Yacht equipment more than a half of dozen times and have fallen in love with Italy!

What is the best book you have read this past year?
Two great books are “The Code Breakers” by Walter Issacson, and “The 3-HAG Way" by Shannon Susko. I run strategic planning for about 10 companies, and The 3-HAG Way is a fantastic guide book for any size company. Email me and I’ll get you a copy!
