The “rollup strategy” of purchasing a chain of health clinics at a low multiple, adding value, and then selling the entity at a high multiple is an increasingly popular one. Key to the success of this strategy is adding value. Single owner clinics are focused on seeing patients and providing high quality service; these clinics have few, if any, resources, or expertise in running the clinic as a business.
