ACG NJ's NextGen Group hosts a series of virtual discussions with business leaders around the state on how they view leadership within their organizations.

Join us on October 11th for the next virtual Leadership Forum.

Blake Balsamo, Director at ACG NJ and Executive Director, Americas, at i2iLogic, will facilitate a discussion with David Tahan, CFO of Kuehne Chemical. David will share his background on how his career started and then rose to leadership at Kuehne Chemical. Participants will learn what David looks for in leadership qualities in his team of aspiring management as well as finding the right people to help lead the organization. And will share thoughts on how young professionals can best position themselves for growth within their organization, to climb the corporate ladder.

Mr. Tahan, CPA, MBA, joined Kuehne Chemical Company, Inc. (“Kuehne” or the “Company”) in 2016 as Controller and was promoted to the CFO position in January 2022. He reports to the CEO. Mr. Tahan is responsible for the accounting, financial reporting, treasury, procurement, and information technology functions of the Company. He is also the Secretary of the Kuehne Board of Directors.

Prior to joining Kuehne, Mr. Tahan spent 25 years in the financial services industry: (i) 12 years as the CFO for two boutique private equity firms, (ii) seven (7) years at a large multinational corporation (The CIT Group) as a loan portfolio manager with an emphasis on troubled debt restructurings, and (iii) six (6) years as a division controller at a large multinational corporation (AT&T Capital Corporation). Earlier in his career, Mr. Tahan wrote accounting policies for a large multinational corporation (AT&T) and was a senior auditor for one of the Big-4 accounting firms, EY.

Mr. Tahan has extensive experience in (i) mergers and acquisitions, (ii) credit underwriting procedures, and (iii) managing all aspects of the back-office support functions including accounting, financial reporting, financial planning & analysis, treasury and cash management, tax, risk management and insurance, internal controls, policies & procedures, human resources, employee benefits & payroll, and information technology. Mr. Tahan was a Board observer (representing the lender) of several portfolio companies.

Mr. Tahan is a Certified Public Accountant. He holds an M.B.A degree in finance from Rutgers University, and a B.S. degree in accounting from Fairleigh Dickinson University. Mr. Tahan is a member of the AICPA and New Jersey Society of CPAs.
