Sara Press, Vice President of Corporate Development at ADP, will lead a group discussion on A Look at M&A Integration Through a Corporate Development Lens. M&A or post-merger integration is critical to the success of an M&A transaction, yet also one of the most challenging aspects of an acquisition to get right. At our meeting, Sara will lead a group discussion on strategies for executing a successful integration, with or without dedicated M&A integration resources, and examine the following issues:

  • When and how should you think about integration during the deal evaluation process?
  • How should integration planning influence your due diligence process?
  • How and when do you form an integration team and who should be on it?
  • What role should the corporate development team play in the integration process?
  • What resources and tools (internal and external) can help facilitate integration management?
  • What are advantages and disadvantages of using large firm or consulting resources for integration?
  • What are common integration pitfalls and how can they be avoided?
  • What governance measures can be put in place to track performance and help ensure the integration’s success?

Sara has over 15 years of investment banking and M&A experience, including over 6 years in Corporate Development at the Payroll/HR company Automatic Data Processing (ADP) a NASDAQ listed company with over $100B in revenue. Sara previously held roles in investment banking and strategy at Merrill Lynch, Blackstone and Paramount (f.k.a. Viacom). She graduated Summa Cum Laude from Dartmouth College and received her MBA, with Honors, from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
