After a thirty year career running his own market leading toy company, Bruce Raiffe retired when it was sold in 2008 to a private equity portfolio company. After 3 years, in January 2011, the private equity firm asked Bruce to return to run Gund for them, as its President for a second time!
Bruce will be contrasting his experiences running Gund as a family owned business and again as President of Gund when owned by the private equity firm. The differences are great and the challenges unique. He will also discuss the quickly changing landscape of selling consumer products to retailers and the marketing to Millennial and Generation Y consumers interested in children’s products.
