A Practical Approach for Women Doing Business Internationally
This
dynamic program will provide insights and practical tips of women who are
currently engaged in international trade or are considering such a course of action.
The two panelists bring years of expertise gained from interacting in an
international environment from two different perspectives.
Tricia McLain will draw on her more than twelve years serving in the public domain as she offers suggestions in three key areas:
· Federal resources to make doing business internationally easier
· Finding trade opportunities within your industry sector
· Connecting with the right overseas partners and prospects
Dawn Cecco will explore best practices for women who are expanding or exploring options for importing and exporting goods to and from the United States. She will specifically address critical strategies such as:
· Sourcing goods from domestic suppliers when overseas supply chain overseas was not accessible
· Identifying an experienced freight company/broker that will facilitate getting goods both in and out of the country
· Being nimble in a global environment
o Share a real-world case study on being prepared to pivot as needed – especially during the COVID pandemic (making sanitizer to keep workers employed throughout the crisis)
· Adjusting from in-person interactions to virtual contact with customers
o Focus on remote education and events
o Converting their training facility into a mock TV studio, complete with lighting and cameras for producing demos and presentations
