Under
the leadership of Mr. Garrett Hackensack University Health Network has been
making headlines and changing the face of health care in New Jersey. In the past 5 years they have acquired
healthcare facilities through M&A deals, formed strategic alliances with
multiple hospital organizations, and most recently signed an MOU with Seton
Hall to form a new, four-year medical school on the campus formerly owned by
Hoffmann-LA Roche, Inc. The industry move toward a more collaborative and
cost-efficient model is necessary to stem the tide of rising costs, the
Affordable HCA provided the catalyst for this consolidation to happen sooner.
The health care system of the future will focus more on wellness and delivering
care through multi-disciplinary teams.
