2015 Chianti Classico Riserva Rancia Felsina
The 2015 Chianti Classico Rancia is one of the most finessed young Rancias I have ever tasted. Silky, aromatically precise and nuanced to the core, the 2015 is shaping up to be a jewel of a wine. This is an impressive showing. 1/18

2007 La Rioja Alta Gran Reserva 904
The 2007 Rioja “904” Gran Reserva from La Rioja Alta is truly an exceptional bottle of Rioja in the making, but at age eleven, this is still patently a young wine and deserves several more years in the cellar to allow it to really blossom completely and show all of its multi-layered levels of complexity. The nose today is complex and very promising of greatness down the road, as it offers up scents of raspberries, cherries, cloves, cinnamon, a touch of nutskin, salty soil tones, toasted coconut and a bit of cedar. On the palate the wine is pure, full-bodied and tangy, with a plush core of fruit, excellent soil signature, ripe, buried tannins and a very long, complex and still youthful finish. The 904 Gran Reserva continues to be aged solely in American oak casks, but they were only four years old for the 2007 and this has imparted a bit of cedary oak spice to the wine. This needs plenty more time in the cellar to reach its apogee, but it will be a great wine when it is truly ready to drink. 5/18
2016 Albarino Cepas Vellas Rias Baixas Do Ferreiro
This is one of the true icons of albarino and it comes from one of the oldest vineyards in the region and all of Spain - pre-phylloxera and pre-Franco. It is 100% old vine albarino from a mere one hectare and it is easily one of the great white wine experiences of the year for us - and not to mention one of Spain's greatest and most elusive whites. The best way to describe it is that the Cepas Velles is the DO Ferreiro Albarino on steroids - it is a little more of everything, more fruit, more concentration, and more depth. There is an old vine intensity here with minerality and acidity that shouts across the palate and just lingers. These qualities are joined by ripe fruit spice and herbs; layers of green apples, pears, limes, melons, oyster shells, peaches, fennel, ginger and the perfect accent of Atlantic Ocean salinity. It is only 12.5% alcohol, but there is plenty of texture and concentration to accompany this mineral-driven wine of persistence and energy. Bravo. Sadly there is little produced, and much less brought into this country.

2016 Caymus Vineyards Zinfandel Napa Valley
Although Caymus is best known for Cabernet Sauvignon, we also produce a small amount of Zinfandel, which was a favorite of Caymus founder Charlie Wagner. It is a varietal that can produce amazing wines here in Napa Valley and our full-bodied version is perfect for rich foods and hearty cheeses, but also enjoyed with pizza and BBQ. Sold only from the winery and to a few select export markets.
2015 Red Schooner by Caymus Voyage 6
This Malbec is made from grapes grown in the Andes Mountains, shipped chilled to Napa Valley and produced with the same techniques as our Caymus Cabernet. Falling outside standard labeling rules, it does not include a vintage date but is known by the voyage from which it traveled (Voyage 6 is the 2015 vintage). Offering scents of ripe plums and cherries, this wine is powerful and supple, with flavors of French oak and soft tannins.

Paumanok Blanc de Blancs 2013
The 2013 Blanc de Blancs has bright and fresh aromas of grapefruit, mango, apricot, lemon, and white peach. The fruitful fragrance intermingles with hints of fresh bread, vanilla cream pie, and rose petals. Freshly sliced Gravenstein apples, zesty citrus, and bright pineapple flavors carry vibrant length on the palate.
Paumanok Grand Vintage Merlot 2013
A marker of Long Island's exceptional 2013 vintage, this exceptionally ripe yet complexed and balanced Merlot offers long aging potential. It's deeply concentrated in fruit, boasting ruddy, ripe streaks of black cherry and plum off set by brisk acidity and fine, penetrating tannins. Shades of dried herb, autumn leaves and mushroom lend finesse and elegance.

Silver Oak Cellars Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2014
Our 2014 Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon has a garnet color with a ruby red rim and bluish tint. It has an alluring nose of chocolate-covered strawberries, vanilla, nutmeg, truffle and sage. On the palate, it has a broad yet delicate entry and offers cranberry flavors. These flavors are complemented by raspberry and pluot with savory black olive characters on the mid-palate. The wine finishes with silky tannins, cedar and bramble flavors with excellent length and return. This wine is drinkable upon release, but given proper cellaring conditions can be enjoyed through 2038.
2016 Kosta Browne One Sixteen Chardonnay
93 Points, Jeb Dunnuck: Bottled in December and sourced from sites mostly in the Russian River (there’s a small amount of Sonoma Coast in here), the 2016 Chardonnay One Sixteen is the larger production cuvée of the estate and could be thought of as the flagship Chardonnay. It reveals the fresher, crisper style of all the wines from Kosta Browne today and has lively notes of green citrus, stone fruits, toasted almonds, and white flowers. Steely and vibrant today, with beautiful purity, it’s going to flesh out nicely with a year in bottle and keep for 6-7 years.<!--more-->Winemaker Nico Cueva continues to fine tune his approach at Kosta Browne, experimenting with new vinification and aging vessels. While the wines were richer and more upfront in the past, today, they have slightly more freshness and tension while not abandoning the beautiful fruit and texture that defines California wines. As I hope these notes show, these are distinctive, singular wines up there with the crème de la crème of the region. 6/18

2016 Chablis Bougros William Fevre
A clearly ripe and smoky nose features notes of green fruit that possesses background nuances of iodine and seashell along with what I can only describe as fishing boat aromas. There is excellent mid-palate concentration to the big, very rich and concentrated flavors that display a round and suave mouth feel, all wrapped in a powerful and driving finish. This isn't elegant, indeed it's almost rustic but there is an impressive level of underlying material. 10/17
92-94 Points, Stephen Tanzer, Vinous: Pale green-tinged yellow. Wonderfully expressive, pungent, classic Kimmeridgian nose offers scents of lime, grilled almond and iodiney minerality. Round, plush and seamless on the palate, with its juicy citrus fruit and ginger flavors lifted by minerality. This silky, sedate, rich wine has no corners and seems almost too easy and expressive today for grand cru. But it also has the stuffing and balance to age, and a finishing element of brown spices provides lift. 08/17
2015 d´Issan
97 Points, James Suckling: Some very rich and ripe red and dark berries here make for an impressive, engaging nose that has charming violet undertones. The palate is velvety and supple, while super smooth tannins deliver a long and plush, plum-soaked finish. Great wine and already drinking well. 2/18
95+ Points, Antonio Galloni, Vinous: One of the highlights of the vintage, the 2015 Malescot Saint Exupéry is superb. Grilled herbs, smoke, black cherry, lavender, menthol and graphite literally explode from this glass. Huge swaths of tannin give the wine its shape and big, ample frame. Iron, smoke, graphite, grilled herbs and licorice punctuate the huge, powerful finish. Readers should be in no rush to open the 2015, as it is likely to require at least a handful of years to become approachable. 2/18

2015 Cobb Mariani Vineyard Chardonnay
Winemaker’s Notes: Now in its third vintage, our Mariani Vineyard Chardonnay is a true labor of love. Because Mariani is a little 1-acre jewel of a vineyard, we made just 100 cases in the 2015 vintage. In the world of fine wine, that's next to nothing. We make it because Mariani yields the closest thing to a white Burgundy that I've ever tasted from California. To underscore its beautiful, pure citrus notes and sophisticated minerality, we used just 20% new oak during 18 months of aging, with a focus on one-, two- and three-year-old French oak barrels. Included on the wine lists of some of the country's top restaurants, including The French Laundry and Per Se, our Mariani Chardonnay is something unique and special.
2011 Copain Kiser En Haut Pinot Noir
90 Points, Josh Raynolds, Vinous: Dark red. Powerful spice-accented aromas of black raspberry, floral pastilles and licorice, with a bright mineral overtone. Then livelier in the mouth, offering tangy blackberry and bitter cherry flavors that put on weight with air. Structured, focused pinot with strong finishing punch, chewy tannins and a late jolt of peppery spices adding bite. 5/14

2015 Napanook by Dominus Estate
92 Points, Antonio Galloni, Vinous: The 2015 Napanook is dark, plush and inviting, all of which make it an excellent choice for drinking now and over the next decade or so. Super-ripe black cherry, plum, spice and licorice notes are all pushed forward in a decidedly lush, open-knit Napanook that will be ready to go pretty much upon release. 1/18
2015 Oreno Sette Ponti
95 Points, Antonio Galloni, Vinous: The 2015 Oreno is fabulous. Rich, sumptuous and yet very much medium in body, the 2015 has it all going on. Silky tannins and juicy, pliant fruit add to the wine's considerable appeal. Succulent dark cherry, plum, chocolate, mocha and licorice infuse this racy, showy Tuscan red. The 2015 is one of the best vintages of Oreno I have tasted of late. 4/18

2015 Quintessa Rutherford
97 Points, James Suckling: Aromas of blue fruits, blackberries, tile and lead pencil. Full body, firm tannins and a fresh, bright finish. Layered and intense with white-pepper and salt undertones. Love the finish to this racy young wine. Beautiful blue fruits! From biodynamic grapes. 05/18
2011 Brunello di Montalcino Tenuta Nuova Casanova di Neri
93 Points, Antonio Galloni, Vinous: The 2011 Brunello di Montalcino Tenuta Nuova is dark, sensual and inviting, with lovely textural depth and fine balance. Macerated dark cherry, plum, smoke, lavender and spice flesh out in a succulent, expressive Brunello that should drink well with minimal cellaring. 2/16

Wayfarer Chardonnay Vineyard 2015, Sonoma Coast- California
"Wayfarer is the manifestation of a remarkable place, masterful winemaking, and the drive to go to extremes to create something truly exceptional. In the glass, our 2015 Chardonnay displays a luminous light yellow hue tinted with pale green. On the nose, generous tropical aromas like melon and crushed pineapple mingle with hints of acacia and white flower, as well as complex notes of vanilla, brioche and golden oak—with just a touch of salinity. The palate is soft, succulent and fresh; it’s also very focused, with bright, balanced acidity and an appealing minerality that lingers over the finish. Enjoy this wine in its youth or over the next 10 to 15 years while it continues to develop in the bottle.
""The 2015 Chardonnay Wayfarer Vineyard has an intense nose of pineapple, guava and ginger with honeysuckle, marzipan, cashews and brioche. The medium-bodied palate is incredibly taut for such a gregarious nose with wonderful tension framing the pronounced tropical flavors beautifully, finishing with lingering savory notes and a gorgeous creamy texture. 800 cases were made.""- 96+ Lisa Perrotti-Brown - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
""The 2015 Chardonnay Wayfarer Vineyard is flat out gorgeous. Deep, rich and elegant, with melon, citrus rind, brioche and hints of white truffles, this beauty hits the palate with plenty of richness, bright acidity, and a great finish. Coming from goldridge soils, it's a classic, elegant Chardonnay that will be better with another year or two of bottle age and drink nicely for a decade.""- 96 Jeb Dunnuck - jebdunnuck.com
""The 2015 Chardonnay Wayfarer Vineyard is rich, powerful and intense. Once again, this is one of the most distinctive Chardonnays being made in California. Candied lemon peel, white flowers, mint and white pepper are all fused together in this deeply expressive, phenolic Chardonnay that captures all the best attributes of this site on the Sonoma Coast.""- 94 Antonio Galloni - Vinous

2013 Shafer Vineyards One Point Five Stags Leap Cabernet Sauvignon
94 Points, Antonio Galloni, Vinous: The 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon One Point Five shows just how compelling this vintage is, even among mid-tier offerings. Dark, ample and structured to the core, the One Point Five boasts superb concentration, power and depth. Blackberry jam, gravel, smoke, licorice and savory herbs build to the vibrant, intense finish. This is an impressive showing from the One Point Five. 12/16
2015 Beaune Greves Vigne de l`Enfant Jesus Bouchard Pere et Fils
92-94 Points, Allen Meadows, Burghound : A discreet though not invisible application of wood sets off highly complex aromas of plum liqueur and a wide range of floral elements that are trimmed in soft spice and earth notes. There is outstanding richness to the full-bodied and concentrated medium-bodied flavors that possess a seductive, even caressing mouth feel before concluding in a decidedly firm, well-balanced and slightly austere finish. This is very clearly built-to-age and should mature slowly over the next 12 to 15 years. Very impressive. 4/17
92 Points, Stephen Tanzer, Vinous: Bright, dark red. Pure, perfumed aromas of blackberry, menthol, violet and licorice, with a note of blood orange emerging with air. Rich, tactile, seamless and deep; seriously ripe but vibrant wine with strong medicinal reserve to its densely packed flavors of black cherry, dark berries, spices, licorice and minerals. Darker in its flavor profile than the Clos de la Mousse and distinctly firmer and more structured than that wine; no easy sweetness in this zesty Beaune wine. Finishes with a serious dusting of fine-grained tannins that reach the front teeth. Still a bit youthfully withdrawn, this wine will need at least a few years in bottle to expand. But a very strong vintage for this cuvée--and built for a graceful evolution in bottle. 1/18
2015 Chassagne Montrachet Caillerets Louis Jadot
90-92 Points, Allen Meadows, Burghound : Moderate reduction presently dominates the nose though it seems clear that the underlying fruit is ripe. As is virtually always the case, there is ample minerality to the intense, round and attractively voluminous flavors that possess fine precision and punch on the impressively long and complex finish. Very solid quality here but note that it will need at least a few years of cellaring first. 6/17

2014 Guado Al Tasso Antinori
96 Points, Antonio Galloni, Vinous: The 2014 Bolgheri Superiore Guado al Tasso has a level of aromatic intensity and breadth that is truly remarkable, especially for the year. Medium in body, gracious and lifted, the 2014 is pure class. Mocha, espresso, black cherry, leather and smoke are beautifully delineated in the glass. Medium in body and super-polished, the 2014 is without question one of the wines of the vintage on the Tuscan coast. I can't wait to see how it ages. This is impressive juice. Production is down by 40%. The 2014 Guado al Tasso is a rock star wine. I can't wait to see how it ages. 4/18.

1996 Calon Segur
92 Points, Robert Parker, Wine Advocate: The 1996 may not be as profound as I had predicted from cask, but it is an exceptional wine. Dark ruby-colored, with a complex nose of dried herbs, Asian spices, and black cherry jam intermixed with cassis, it possesses outstanding purity, and considerable tannin in the finish. This classic, medium to full-bodied, traditionally made wine improves dramatically with airing, suggesting it will have a very long life.
La Jota Vineyard 12th Anniversary Howell Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon
96 points from Robert Parker, Wine Advocate: Proprietors Bill and Joan Smith are two of the nicest, most modest vineyard/winery owners I have ever met. They have turned La Jota into one of the great names in California winedom. Along with Randy Dunn, Peter Michael, and Beringer, they are getting more out of Howell Mountain fruit than any other California producer. The Smiths modestly give considerable credit to Helen Turley, who consulted at La Jota in 1992 and 1993, for opening their eyes to the possibilities of producing great red wines from Howell Mountain without the astringent tannin normally associated with this mountain appellation. Although the La Jota Cabernets possess high tannin levels, the tannins are velvety and sweet. The 1992s were so extraordinary at this winery, it is hard to believe that the 1993s and 1994s could be their equal. Moreover, both Joan and Bill Smith believe that 1995 produced the greatest raw materials in the short history of this winery. I tasted through their 1995s as the wines had finished malolactic fermentation and were surprisingly evolved, even though the harvest had just been completed. They look brilliant, but more on those wines after they have had some time in barrel. 12/95

2013 Brunello di Montalcino Il Poggione
95 Points, Ian D’Agata, Vinous: Bright red. Pure, refined red cherry and wild strawberry aromas and flavors complicated by sweet spices and aromatic herbs. Deep and multilayered, the wine boasts polished tannins and a harmonious acid spine that lifts and extends the red fruit on the long, suave finish. An essence of Sant’Angelo in Colle with bigger body and palate weight than, for example, the Brunellos of Montosoli, but still sleek and refined as the best wines of Sant’Angelo in Colle can be. The cool-climate-styled 2013 vintage is precisely the type of year in which Il Poggione excels: this lovely, focused wine is the best classico Brunello from Il Poggione in years. Superb. 4/18
2015 Bourgogne Blanc Domaine Leflaive
89+ Points, John Gilman, View from the Cellar: The 2015 Bourgogne Blanc from Domaine Leflaive is ripe, pure and nicely open in personality and will drink well from the outset. The bouquet delivers a fine blend of pear, apple, honeysuckle and a fine base of soil tones. On the palate the wine is full-bodied, pure and quite vibrant in personality, with a good core, fine focus and grip and a long, racy and impressively fresh finish. Good juice. 11/16

2012 Rivers Marie Summa Old Vines Pinot Noir
94 Points, Allen Meadows, Burghound: An overtly spicy, cool and strikingly layered nose features notes of plum, exotic tea, floral hints as well as touches of violet and lavender. There is excellent power and concentration to the extract-rich flavors that also coat the palate with extract on the gorgeously textured, complex and balanced finish. The old vines are very much in evidence as the extra density imparts a palpable sense of focused power. I should note that the abundant extract gives this a velvety palate feel that would allow it to be enjoyed young but this possesses so much development potential it would be a shame to waste it. In a word, terrific. 4/15
2012 Rivers Marie Summa Vineyard Pinot Noir
94 Points, Antonio Galloni, Vinous : The 2012 Pinot Noir Summa Vineyard is drop-dead gorgeous. Cranberry, red cherry, wild flowers, mint and cinnamon meld together beautifully. I find a little more depth and focus in the Summa next to the Summa Old Vines, which is a bit more wandering, especially in its aromatics. Layers of bright red fruit build to the crystalline, inviting finish. The 2012 is round and supple in style, yet also layered with vibrancy. 2/14

2013 Ridge Vineyards Estate Merlot
92 Points, Antonio Galloni, Vinous: The 2013 Merlot Estate shows just how extraordinary this vintage is at Ridge. Far from an easygoing wine, the 2013 Merlot hits the palate with serious intensity and tannic heft. Dark and virile to the core, the 2013 is flat-out delicious. Even with all of its intensity, the 2013 retains the classic Ridge sense of mid-weight structure. Readers should plan on cellaring the 2013 for at least a few years. This is impressive stuff. 7/16

97 Points, Robert Parker, Wine Advocate : Blended of 73% Cabernet Sauvignon, 18% Merlot, 5% Cabernet Franc and 4% Petit Verdot, the 2015 The Bard offers up a very deep garnet-purple color and highly perfumed scents of violets, dried Provence herbs, lavender and tapenade over a core of cassis and blackberry preserves. Full-bodied and loaded with perfumed black fruit layers, it has a solid frame of rounded, plush-textured tannins and a provocatively earthy finish. 1/17
2014 Shafer Vineyards Napa Valley Merlot
91 Points, Antonio Galloni, Vinous: Dark red cherry, plum, spice, menthol, licorice and gravel are beautifully delineated in Shafer's 2014 Merlot. This is a somewhat brisk, linear style, but it works nicely. Savory overtones add aromatic intensity and lift throughout. There is plenty to like, but readers should expect a slightly more reserved Merlot than is the norm here. 12/16
2015 Pavie Macquin
97 Points, Antonio Galloni, Vinous: One of the highlights of the vintage, the 2015 Pavie Macquin is positively stellar. A veritable explosion of super-ripe red cherry, rose petal and mocha makes a strong opening statement. Silky on the palate, with soft tannins and tons of sheer exoticism, the 2015 is stunningly beautiful. All of the signatures of the site are turned up to the maximum in this vivid, head-spinning wine from estate manager Nicolas Thienpont and his team. Don't miss it! 2/18

2014 Quilceda Creek Palengat Horse Heaven Hills Red
94 Points, Stephen Tanzer, Vinous: Bright red-ruby; not hugely saturated. Alluring, high-toned aromas of cassis, boysenberry and gingerbread spices. Suave and fine-grained, offering a lovely balance of sweetness of berry fruit and harmonious acidity; uncommonly complex, as the ripeness ranges from lightly herbal to nearly overripe without crossing either line. This plush, broad wine really vibrates on the long, subtle, slowly building finish, which features fine-grained tannins. 10/17

2011 Leoville Las Cases
95 Points, Wine Spectator: This has some toast to shed, but retains a terrific core of crushed plum and blackberry confiture. There's a beautiful ripple of charcoal for texture, with honest acidity for balance and a bolt of iron that keeps this firmly grounded. A brick-house Cabernet.... 03/14
2015 Domaine de Chevalier Blanc
98 Points, James Suckling: Instantly impressive nose with pristine lemons and limes as well as subtly flinty, reductive notes. The palate has power and direction, not to mention impressive yeast lees influence and perfectly integrated oak. Power, impressive tension and length. Drink this young or with some considerable age. It will deliver at both ends. 2/18
96 Points, Antonio Galloni, Vinous: The 2015 Domaine de Chevalier Blanc is every bit as captivating from bottle as it was from barrel. Time seems to have given the 2015 more depth and freshness, which is obviously a very good thing. A host of lemon peel, crushed rock, green pear, mint and dried apricot notes develop in the glass, but as is so often the case here, it is the wine's textural brilliance and persistence that place it among the world's great wines. The 2015 is simply magnificent. 2/18

2014 Robert Craig Mt.Veeder Cabernet Sauvignon
93+ Points, Antonio Galloni, Vinous: Even the addition of 20% Merlot is not enough to fully soften the 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon (Mt. Veeder). Intense mountain tannins give the 2014 much of its personality. Smoke, cured meats, licorice and spices fill out the wine's frame effortlessly. This is an especially huge, dramatic Cabernet Sauvignon, especially within the context of the year. A surge of black cherry, smoke and chocolate leaves a lasting impression. 12/16

Deep garnet-purple in color, the 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon Kathryn Hall opens with intense crème de cassis, mulberries and plum preserves notions over hints of Chinese five spice, tapenade and smoky bacon, plus a touch of dried Provence herbs. 2013 Mayacamas Cabernet Sauvignon
97 Points, Antonio Galloni, Vinous: The 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon is a huge, dark wine. Virile, imposing and massively structured in the glass, the 2013 is a wine for readers who can be patient. The flavors are dark, bold and incisive, with potent tannins and a real feeling of gravitas to back things up. Black cherry, game, smoke, gravel and licorice add to an impression of brooding intensity. 2016 Chablis Les Preuses William Fevre
93-95 Points, Stephen Tanzer, Vinous: Pungent but reticent nose hints at pineapple, peach, ginger, menthol and subtle crushed-stone minerality. Rich, spicy and sweet, with its ripe orchard fruit flavors leavened by a floral topnote. Very subtle, elegant yet extract-rich wine with terrific dusty length and lift. Ultimately dry and classic, this wine reverberates on the palate for a minute or more. Vincent Dauvissat's Preuses is frequently the finest and most complete example of this grand cru but the William Fèvre version is often my #2 choice. 08/17

2014 Cornell Vineyards Estate Cabernet Sauvignon
94 Points, Antonio Galloni, Vinous: The 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate is bright, polished and super-refined to the core. Medium in body and gracious in the style of the year, the 2014 possesses remarkable balance. The 2014 is tightly wound and in need of time, but it is exceptionally beautiful and resonant. 2014 Napanook by Dominus Estate
95 Points, James Suckling: Gorgeous aromas of sweet tobacco, iodine and oysters. Blackcurrants, too. complexity. Savory. A joy to drink now, but this will improve with age.
93 Points, Antonio Galloni, Vinous: The 2014 Napanook is, once again, a very serious wine. Dark, powerful and brooding, the 2014 possesses remarkable intensity packed into its mid-weight frame. Smoke, scorched earth, tobacco, graphite, savory herbs and menthol add to an impression of gravitas. The 2014 doesn't quite have the depth or power of the 2013, but it leans in Subtle. Medium to full body, elegant and refined tannins, and yet there's also delicious, understated that direction. I would give it a few years in bottle to settle down. This is an impressive showing.
2013 Silver Oak Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Winemaker’s Notes: Our 2013 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon is dark ruby in color and entices you with a nose of raspberry, cassis and loose pipe tobacco. This full-bodied wine has an assertively silky structure and is notably spicy on the palate. Flavors of sage and blackberry mark the wine’s entry. The strong acidity in the mid-palate is followed by a lingering finish. Given proper cellaring, this wine will provide drinking pleasure through 2038.

Two Hands Shiraz
Deep dark red with a purple hue. Lifted notes of blackberry, dark chocolate, baking spices, hung meats, lavender and pipe smoke. This Shiraz is rich and generous in all proportions. The fruit crashes and cascades across all corners of the palate as only a Barossa Shiraz can. Deep notes of blackberry, chocolate, baking spices and smoked meat are complimented by floral top notes of lavender and potpourri. Lovely and textural across the palate, the gritty, savory tannins are accentuated by notes of pipe smoke, coal dust and wet earth. A refreshing burst of acidity provides the perfect foil to compliment a long deep finish.
Kanonkop Pinotage
It has a clean, pure bouquet of black plum, licorice and light menthol notes that gain intensity with aeration. The palate is medium-bodied with sappy red berry fruit and well-judged acidity. The oak just lends lift toward the smooth, dark-chocolate-tinged finish. Excellent

94 Points, James Molesworth, WineSpectator : Very solid, with a dark black fruit profile of currant, blackberry and fig framed by roasted alder wood and backed by bittersweet ganache and mouthwatering briar notes on the long finish. This has the tarry grip of the vintage and should cellar nicely as there's lively acidity behind all the fruit and grip. Best from 2015 through 2030... 03/13
94 Points, Robert Parker, WineAdvocate: It displays loads of Christmas fruitcake, licorice, incense, black cherry and black currant liqueur with some smoky barbecue notes as well as hints of coffee bean and chocolate. Sexy, full-throttle and impossible to resist already, it should continue to drink well for 15 or more years, and I don't anticipate this particular wine closing down... 02/13
94-95 Points, James Suckling: Love the finish to this. It really kicks in with bright acidity, citrus and blackberries and minerals too. This is complex. Full and super silky. Loving it! 04/11
2015 Kumeu River Mates Vineyard Chardonnay
94 Points, Wine Enthusiast, Joe Czerwinski: Yields were down in 2015, but intensity is up, giving this medium-bodied, silky wine the potential to drink well through at least 2025. Hickory smoke outlines white peach before ending in a long flurry of lime zest. 7/17

Lynmar Estate 2016 Russian River Valley Chardonnay
"The 2016 Russian River Chardonnay is comprised entirely of Rued clone grown on our estate vineyard, Quail Hill. Pale straw in color, intriguing notes of honeysuckle, white peach, lemon zest and wet stone are immediately apparent. On the palate, hints of lemongrass, apricot and pomelo emerge and are framed by a fresh vibrant acidity. The elegant textured palate gives way to a long, clean, bright finish."
Lynmar Estate 2016 Russian River Valley Pinot Noir
"This bottling captures the incredibly nuanced texture and vibrant aromatics of Russian River Valley Pinot Noir. Fruit is selected from our three Russian River Valley Vineyards, Quail Hill Vineyard, Susanna’s Vineyard, and Adam’s Vineyard.
A bright, clear garnet in the glass, this vintage opens with beautiful aromas of strawberry and red cranberry, accented with notes of hibiscus and sandalwood. On the palate, the red fruit tones lengthen to fresh cherry and cranberry, joined by flavors of baking spice, chicory, and cocoa powder on the finish."

2013 Barolo Sarmassa Marchesi di Barolo
96 Points, James Suckling: What a fantastic nose to this wine with aromas of roses, blackberries, strawberries and orange peel. Full-bodied, tight and focused with firm and racy tannins. It really shows a laser-guided backbone of acidity and tannin. Serious all around. 1/17
2015 Bergstrom Le Pre Du Col Vineyard Pinot Noir Oregon
95 Points, Josh Raynolds, Vinous: Deep bright-rimmed red. Explosive red and dark berry preserve aromas are complicated by suggestions of smoky minerals, incense and potpourri, and a suave hint of Indian spices emerges with air. Juicy and deeply concentrated yet graceful on the palate, offering alluringly sweet black raspberry, cherry cola and spicecake flavors and a sexy lavender pastille flourish. The strikingly long, penetrating finish features resonating florality and harmonious tannins that fold effortlessly into the clinging, sweet fruit. 1/18
2014 Shafer Vineyards One Point Five Stags Leap Cabernet Sauvignon
93 Points, Antonio Galloni, Vinous: The 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon One Point Five offers up scents of lavender, cloves, menthol, licorice, spice and graphite. Savory, delineated and tightly wound, the 2014 is a picture-perfect example of the vintage. Winemaker Elias Fernandez adds that the drought was more severe in 2014 than it was in 2013. This is another strong showing from Shafer. 12/16
2011 Brunello di Montalcino Poggio San Polo
95 Points, James Suckling: Wonderful aromas of ginger, plum, lemongrass and ripe berry. Full body and silky tannins with a depth of fruit and a long, long finish. A fantastic wine for the vintage. Can age this, but delicious already... 2/16

2009 Larcis Ducasse
96 Points, Antonio Galloni, Vinous: The 2009 Larcis Ducasse is an exotic, flamboyant wine endowed with remarkable depth and pure pedigree. Sweet tobacco, mint, pine and red-fleshed fruits are front and center. Even with all of its voluptuousness and richness, the 2009 is firm and quite tannic. Readers should be prepared to cellar it for at least a handful of years.

2015 Brick House Dijonnais Pinot Noir
94 Points, Josh Raynolds, Vinous: Deep red. Heady, smoke-accented red berry preserve, Moroccan spice and lavender pastille scents show wonderful clarity and pick up notes of mocha and cola with air. Sweet and expansive on the palate, offering densely packed, energetic black raspberry and cherry cola flavors that show appealing spiciness and a touch of smoky minerality. Concentrated yet graceful in style, finishing with impressive, mineral-driven thrust and silky, slow-building tannins that fold seamlessly into the sappy fruit. 1/18

2015 Sonoma Coast Chardonnay
2015 Sonoma Coast Chardonnay, with its spine of sappy brightness and crystalline salinity, displays all the dense, bright and savory appeal of the Sonoma Coast in this singular vintage. At once more textural and more filigreed, this is a laser focused expression of coastal fruit with citrus, coastal bay and a mineral depth that carries the mid-palate to a refreshing finish. Wins points for purity, offering a clean expression of ripe pear, apple and citrus flavors, with a pleasant dash of cedary oak adding dimension and depth. Drink now through 2020.

2016 Kosta Browne Russian River Valley Pinot Noir
92 Points, James Laube, Wine Spectator: The mix of red berry, wild berry, licorice and gravelly earth flavors offers lots of substance, maintaining a tight focus and ending with a long, persistent finish. 5/18
2015 Cristom Marjorie Pinot Noir
94 Points, James Suckling: A wealth of flowers on the nose of this pinot noir such as roses, peonies and violets as well as red fruits in the red cherry and ripe cranberry spectrum. On the attack the beautiful acidity really surrounds the full-bodied palate with tangy fruit, but then the firm yet encompassing tannins come into play and ensure this finishes not just bright but really dense and structured. 12/17

2015 Le Serre Nuove Ornellaia
94 Points, Antonio Galloni, Vinous: The 2015 Serre Nuove and Ornellaia both express the personality of the year beautifully in their totally impeccable sense of balance...The 2015 Le Serre Nuove shows just how alluring this vintage is. Silky, perfumed and also wonderfully light on its feet, the 2015 is a real pleasure to taste today. All of the Ornellaia signatures come through in an attractive, mid-weight wine that will drink well right out of the gate. The 2015 is a stunning Serre Nuove. That's all there is to it. 4/18.
2013 Chianti Classico Gran Selezione Vigna del Sorbo Fontodi
98+ Points, Antonio Galloni, Vinous Media: A vivid, expressive wine, Fontodi's 2013 Chianti Classico Gran Selezione Vigna del Sorbo is tremendous. That is the good news. The not so good news, if I can say that, is that the 2013 is likely to require a number of years before it can be truly appreciated, much less enjoyed. Vertical and explosive on the palate, the 2013 is a huge wine. Black cherry, plum, graphite, licorice and dark spices emerge over time, but only with great reluctance. Readers will have to be very patient with the 2013. A host of violet, lavender, menthol and dark spices wrap around the huge, tightly wound finish. 10/16

2013 Brunello di Montalcino Tenuta Nuova Casanova di Neri
98 Points, James Suckling: This is a red that has such depth on the nose with red fruits, mushroom, rose petal and bark. Extremely complex. Full body, powerful and layered. Superb length. Exceptional wine. So much energy. Better in 2022. 11/17
95+ Points, Ian d'Agata, Vinous: Bright deep red. The youthfully reticent nose hints at flinty red cherry, blueberry, graphite, cedar and pepper. Then flavors similar to the aromas, and a tight acid spine and serious but polished tannins nicely extending and framing the brooding fruit notes and peppery flintiness on the long, deep, complex finish. A truly outstanding Tenuta Nuova Brunello that seems less fruit-forward and more shut down than usual but holds exciting promise. Interestingly, some of this wine's elements, such as its flinty nuances, reminded me of Casanova di Neri's Cerretalto Brunello (made with grapes grown at the opposite end of the Montalcino territory). I guess my palate needs to take a vacation. This knockout wine will age splendidly and will likely merit an even higher score in eight to ten years' time. 4/18.
2015 Kistler Vineyards Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir
Winemaker’s Notes: Kistler's goal in crafting their Pinot Noirs is to capture the elusive Pinot character expressed in each of their exceptional coastal sites. Kistler strives to produce elegant, harmonious wines which are impressive for their purity, balance, and lingering perfume. From these sites there is a progression of color and length of character as they move towards the coast.
2015 O´Shaughnessy Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
92+ Points, Lisa Perrotti-Brown, The Wine Advocate: Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley has an enticing earthy/meaty/savory nose with a baked plums and crème de cassis core over chargrill and garrigue hints plus a waft of tapenade. The full-bodied palate is relatively restrained and earthy in nature, featuring muscular fruit and firm, chewy tannins, finishing on a lingering mineral note.
2015 Toscana Bianco Poggio Alle Gazze Ornellaia
93 Points, James Suckling: This is a focused and fruity white with plenty of dried mango and peach character. Medium to full body and a flavorful finish. I always like this. Sauvignon blanc. Drink or hold. 10/17
2016 Vouvray Demi-Sec Le Mont Huet
95 Points, James Molesworth, Wine Spectator: This tilts toward the flattering side of off-dry, showing a plump feel to the core of creamed pear, white peach and yellow apple fruit. Lovely verbena, honeysuckle and mineral accents keep this balanced and driven, with a long finish that lets the fruit echo. Drink now through 2032. 2,000 cases made. 09/17

Inky in color, this begins with alluring aromoatics of ripe dark fruits and wild blackberry cordial along with roasted figs and milk chocolate which continue to bring you back to the glass. On the palate this possesses a wonderful opluent mouthfeel as well as a seamless quality that makes this nearly impossible to resist. Flavors of crème de cassis, mocha, tar, graphite and blackberry jam continue to build on the palate and expand through the long finish. A stunning wine, with outstanding weight and poise, this will cellar marvelously for the next fifteen plus years. 7/18

2012 Brunello di Montalcino Our 40th Harvest Altesino
96 Points, Bruce Sanderson, Wine Spectator: Red Cherry, leather and iron notes mark this suave, elegant red. A bit reticent now, but the fruit is fresh and long on the finish. The dense tannins leave a mouthcoating impression, but this opens up beautifully over a few hours. 02/17
93 Points, James Suckling: A juicy Brunello with plum and dark-chocolate character, yet this always remains subtle and fresh. Medium to full body, firm and silky tannins and a fresh finish. Drink or hold. 11/16.
2014 Lutum Durell Vineyard Chardonnay
94 Points, Antonio Galloni, Vinous: The 2014 Chardonnay Durell Vineyard captures all the phenolic intensity that is so typical of this renowned Sonoma site. A vertical, intense wine, the Durell is also the most structured and outright powerful Chardonnay Gavin Chanin makes. 09/16

95 Points, Josh Raynolds, Vinous: Lurid red. Intense, highly expressive aromas of raspberry preserves, cherry cola, Asian spices and incense carry a sexy floral overtone. Juicy and expansive on the palate, offering sweet Chambord, rose pastille and five-spice powder flavors that become more energetic with air. Closes sappy, spicy and extremely long, delivering emphatic red fruit thrust, lingering florality and talc-y tannins that merge effortlessly into the energetic fruit. 6/18
2014 Evening Land Seven Springs La Source Chardonnay
92 Points, Wine Spectator: Bright, focused and laser-sharp, articulating the mineral-accented pear and citrus flavors. Lingers with presence. Drink now through 2024. 450 cases made. 11/16
92 Points, Neal Martin, Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: The 2014 Chardonnay Seven Springs Vineyard la Source, 20% matured in Stockinger 500-liter puncheons for 11 months, has a far superior bouquet compared to the Estate Chardonnay - much better delineation and mineralité, greater complexity and more Chablis-like. The palate is fresh and crisp with a keen line of acidity, a touch of lemongrass here with a vibrant finish that lingers in the mouth. This ""wired"" Chardonnay comes recommended. 06/16

2015 Austin Hope Hope Vineyard Paso Robles Cabernet Sauvignon
97Points, Wine Enthusiast: Deep ruby in color, the 2015 Austin Hope Cabernet Sauvignon expresses intense fragrances of black currants, ripe black cherries and blackberries, with subtle notes of violets, mocha and dried spices. It’s a big, powerful, modern-styled wine with velvety tannins and heaps of juicy blackberry and cherry fruit, while nuances of cedar, clove and vanilla bean round out the long smooth finish. It’s full-bodied, rich and balanced by fresh acidity with a firm, polished tannin structure
2015 Hermitage Blanc Les Miaux Ferraton Pere et Fils
93Points, Josh Raynolds, Vinous: Pale gold. High-pitched orchard and pit fruit and floral scents show excellent clarity and a hint of dusty minerals. Densely packed yet energetic on the palate, showing impressive clarity to the white peach, pear, tangerine and honeysuckle flavors. The mineral note repeats on the impressively long finish, which shows outstanding focus and intensity.

2006 Clos L´Eglise
92 Points, Robert Parker, The Wine Advocate: Chocolate, espresso roast, plum, fig, and black currant aromas are followed by a dense, rich, full-bodied Pomerol displaying superb purity, elegance, and noticeable but ripe tannin. There is not an astringent element to be found in this savory, layered, opulent 2006. It is ideal for drinking over the next 12-15+ years. 2/09

2014 Beringer Vineyards Private Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon
95 Points, Robert Parker, The Wine Advocate: Always the best of all of them is the 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon Private Reserve, which in this vintage is a blend of 62% from their Howell Mountain holdings, 22% from St. Helena, 7% from Spring Mountain, 7% from Mt. Veeder and the rest from other sources. Only 7,383 cases were made of this blend of 97% Cabernet Sauvignon and the rest Merlot and Petit Verdot. The wine has an inky purple color, a big, sweet kiss of pen ink, graphite, cedar wood, licorice, blackberries and blackcurrants with some background oak, but it's dominated by the fruit extract and the full-bodied richness and glycerin this wine possesses. The texture is open and lush, and the wine more forward and sexy than the 2013 was at a similar stage of development. It should drink well for 20-25 years, as these wines have an impeccable track record of ageability. 12/16
94 Points, Antonio Galloni, Vinous: Beringer's flagship 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon Private Reserve is mostly Howell Mountain fruit. Rich and seamless on the palate, the 2014 possesses striking depth, along with scents of black cherry, chocolate, menthol and spices. Interestingly, the Private Reserve is more accessible than some of the single-vineyard Cabernets. Accordingly, it will drink well with minimal cellaring. 12/16
2010 Brunello di Montalcino Riserva Poggio al Vento Col d`Orcia
97 Points, Monica Larner, Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: Released seven years after the harvest, the 2010 Brunello di Montalcino Riserva Poggio al Vento is a stunning wine. It soars to the highest altitudes in terms of elegance and power. These opposite forces-muscle versus grace-are what distinguish this classic vintage. Col d'Orcia has effortlessly captured and immortalized both sides of the continuum. The bouquet produces a long succession of aromas including dried cherry fruit, licorice, cola, lavender flower, cured meat and black truffle. The velvety finish is supple and long in persistence. This is a gorgeous creation. 02/17
2015 Grand Puy Lacoste
96 Points, James Suckling: Swathed in spicy and toasty oak aromas, this has a wealth of superbly expressed red and dark berries, flowers and mint. The palate delivers a very assertive and energetic array of dark berries and spiced plums with a fresh, focused, vibrant finish. Superb wine. 2/18
95 Points, Antonio Galloni, Vinous: The 2015 Grand Puy Lacoste is just as compelling from bottle as it was from barrel. Sensual, polished and refined, the 2015 is all class. Silky tannins, perfumed aromatics and beautifully delineated fruit are some of the signatures. The natural richness of the year comes through nicely, but without overpowering the wine's mid-weight sense of structure. This is a fabulous example of the year. 2/18
2015 Puligny Montrachet Clos de la Garenne Duc de Magenta Louis Jadot
92 Points, Stephen Tanzer, Vinous: Bright lemon-yellow. Nose dominated by smoke, soil and rocks, with white stone fruit and citrus zest in the background. Fat, rich and sweet; a lovely mouthfilling wine with a plush texture and serious depth to its peach and mineral flavors. The very old (80 years) vines give the middle palate a creamy, glyceral quality but there's enough ripe acidity and supporting minerality here to support the wine's considerable baby fat. 9/17
93 Points, Bruce Sanderson, Wine Spectator: Though tightly wound, this elegant white shows harmony between the lemon pie, pastry, toast and baking spice notes. Turns toastier on the long finish, but has both intensity and length. Best from 2020 through 2033. 400 cases made. 3/18

2012 Brunello di Montalcino Valdicava
96 Points, James Suckling: I like the ripe-fruit and smoked-meat aromas to this. Subtle and complex. Medium to full body, firm and silky tannins and a long and chewy finish. Needs time to soften. Very structured for the vintage. Better in 2020. 12/16

2013 De Loach Russian River Estate Pinot Noir
90 Points, Wine Enthusiast: Bedecked with a large gold fleur-de-lis on the bottle, this wine is showy in flavor too, a rich, ripe celebration of California exuberance, full bodied in cranberry, cherry, orange and blackberry fruitiness.
2013 Inglenook Cabernet Sauvignon
96 Points, Antonio Galloni, Vinous: A powerful, vibrant wine, the 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon shows the pedigree of this historic Rutherford vineyard. Remarkably light on its feet for such a big wine, the 2013 offers exceptional depth and pedigree from the very first taste. Even with all of its obvious intensity, the 2013 manages to remain polished and vibrant. 10/15.

2014 Spottswoode Cabernet Sauvignon
Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon has a drop-dead gorgeous nose of Sichuan pepper, hoisin, peppered salami and fertile loam over a core of blackberry preserves and redcurrant jelly with touches of kirsch and pencil shavings. 2013 Barolo Colonnello Aldo Conterno
98 Points, James Suckling: Terrific aromas of blackberries, walnuts, spices, bark and mushrooms. Full body, ultra-fine tannins and bright acidity. So beautiful now but be patient. This needs four or five years to come completely together. Wow. What class and precision define this wine. The aromas show such subtle complexity and beauty. Full and tight with a solid core of fruit. Polished tannins to the maximum. Better in 2021. 11/16.
2015 Pichon Baron
97 Points, Antonio Galloni, Vinous : A dramatic, sweeping wine, the Pichon-Longueville Baron is even better from bottle than it was from barrel. The 2015 is dense, plush and totally voluptuous as it sweeps across the palate to make its presence known. Nuanced and poised, with seemingly endless layers of nuance, the 2015 is super-impressive. A melange of dark red/purplish fruit, lavender, mint, spice and rose petal builds as this towering, dramatic Pauillac shows off its allure. In 2015, Pichon Baron is endowed with spectacular balance and class. This is quite simply a brilliant showing from the 2015. 2/18
97 Points, Lisa Perrotti-Brown, Wine Advocate: Medium to deep garnet-purple in color, the 2015 Pichon-Longueville Baron is enticingly scented of chocolate-covered cherries, crushed red currants and mulberries with touches of baking spices, potpourri and bay leaves plus a hint of fallen leaves. Sumptuously elegant, refreshing and medium-bodied with gorgeous, expressive, perfumed red fruits and very fine, very firm tannins, it has a persistent, perfumed finish. Its remarkable intensity, freshness and very firm frame suggest a long-lived Pichon Baron, which should cellar gracefully for 30+ years. 2/18
NV Jacquesson Cuvee 740 Extra Brut
93 Points, Stephan Reinhardt, Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: The NV Cuvée No. 740 Extra-Brut is based on the 2012 vintage and contains about 20% of reserve wines. All of the wines are fermented and aged for about 12 months in 225- to 4,000-liter oak vats. Malolactic is never blocked, but the Chiquet brothers do some bâtonnage. The white-golden colored Cuvée No. 740 offers a ripe, deep and elegant bouquet and reflects the more oxidative house style. On the palate, this is a pure, highly finessed and elegant cuvée that blends Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier. It is pure and salty, with an elegant texture and a long, well-structured finish. A great Champagne. My sample was disgorged in May 2017. Tasted April 2018. 6/18

Arietta Quartet Red 2014
The nose offers aromas of ripe strawberries and raspberries freshly picked in the heat of afternoon sun, with nuances of flint and cherry cola. On the palate, the Arietta Quartet suggests red plum, blackberry cordial, cocoa, black licorice, supported by persistent, silky tannins from the already well integrated French oak. The Cabernet Franc in the blend arrives at the finish to provide hints of Provencal herbs
Orin Swift Cabernet Papillon 2015
A tradtional Bordeaux blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot and Malbec. Well-structured and elegant, with spicy, cedary currant and black cherry fruit that has a dusty edge, with a touch of mineral. Ends with gentle, fine-grained tannins.

2013 Alban Patrina Syrah
91-93 Points, Jeb Dunnuck, Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: The only 2013 I was able to taste from this estate, the 2013 Syrah Patrina offers full-bodied richness and depth, lots of dark fruits, cassis, licorice and graphite, perfect ripeness and a polished, elegant personality. Shining for its purity, it's ready to go and will shine on release. 8/15
2014 Lutum Sanford & Benedict Vineyard Pinot Noir
95 Points, Jeb Dunnuck, The Wine Advocate: Similarly colored to the Rita's Crown, the 2014 Pinot Noir Sanford & Benedict Vineyard (aged 18 months in 37% new oak) has an incredibly silky and seamless texture that carries a surprising amount of polished tannin. Red currants, Bing cherries, underbrush and sappy flowers all show on the nose, and this ethereally textured, lengthy Pinot Noir is pure class. Drink it over the coming decade. 8/16
93 Points, Antonio Galloni, Vinous: The 2014 Pinot Noir Sanford & Benedict Vineyard is bold, rich and juicy. Succulent dark cherry, plum, mocha, leather and dark spice are front and center. The use of fully destemmed fruit and newer vineyards seems to yield a distinctly juicy, fruit-driven style of S&B Pinot that stands in contrast to the more reserved version Gavin Chanin makes under his own label. 09/16
2012 Brunello di Montalcino Pianrosso Ciacci Piccolomini
97 Points, James Suckling: This is all about finesse and beauty with such great length and polish. It literally melts in your mouth. Full-bodied yet agile and vivid. So many undertones of cedar, berries, cream and light toffee. Fabulous. Contender for the wine of the vintage. 12/16
2015 Orma Tenuta Orma
98 Points, James Suckling: Plenty of ripe blackberry and incense. Opens up beautifully in the glass. So perfumed. Full body and seamless tannins that coat your palate with a silky texture. Wonderfully framed with complex fruit. 8/17.
96 Points, Antonio Galloni, Vinous: The 2015 Orma is fabulous. Pliant and resonant in the glass, the 2015 is a total pleasure bomb. Mocha, espresso, raspberry jam, rose petal, mint and cedar all race out of the glass in this stunningly beautiful, gracious wine from Orma. All the elements simply fall into place effortlessly. A closing flourish of aromatic intensity punctuates the finish. 4/18
2014 Roc de Cambes
91-93 Points, Neal Martin, Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: The Château Roc de Cambes 2014, François Mitjavile's consistently over-performing Côte de Blaye, is blessed with a fragrant, perfumed nose, the fruit a little darker than his Tertre-Rôteboeuf: mulberry and blackberry, crushed petals and incense. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannin, very pure and harmonious with a long sensual finish. You know, this might be the first time that I feel that the Roc de Cambes has the élan of the Tertre-Rôteboeuf and as such, it represents one of the best values you will find in 2014.
2012 Cotes de Nuits Villages Clos des Langres Domaine D`Ardhuy
91 Points, Burghound: A distinctly earthy and sauvage nose features primarily scents of dark currant and plum. The rich and supple flavors are supported by ripe tannins on the rustic and lingering finish that offers limited depth and refinement…. 01/14
2012 Beringer Vineyards Knights Valley Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon
93 Points, Wine Spectator: Delicate aromas of crushed dark berry, wilted rose, cedar and graphite fold over to the palate, where they are trim and structured. The firm acidity and tannins are complemented by a hint of fresh-crushed rock. 09/15
2011 Gandona Pritchard Hill Encosta Cabernet Sauvignon
Winemaker’s Notes: The 2011 vintage offers bright and dynamic aromas of raspberries and red cherries that are superimposed with cardamom, nutmeg, caramel and honeysuckle. Rich milk chocolate, pomegranate and framboise are layered onto fine-grained tannins. An interplay of burnt sugar and rhubarb integrate seamlessly into the well-structured toasted oak. 98% Cabernet Sauvignon; 2% Petit Verdot -Winery

2015 Duckhorn Vineyards Napa Valley Merlot Three Palms Vineyard
Since our inaugural vintage in 1978, Duckhorn Vineyards has been proud to craft a vineyard-designate bottling from Three Palms. One of California’s first single-vineyard Merlots, this full-bodied wine reflects Three Palms’ unique terroir and has been a consistent benchmark for New World Merlot. Named for its three iconic palm trees, the warm, up valley vineyard features lean soils that cause the vines to send their roots deep in search of nutrients, producing an intense, age-worthy wine with complex fruit and mineral layers.
2013 Duckhorn Vineyards Howell Mountain Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
The unique climate and soils on Howell Mountain are the key to the appellation’s success in producing powerful, age-worthy wines. Duckhorn Vineyards has sourced grapes from this distinctive region for more than a quarter century and has crafted a Howell Mountain bottling since 1989. Over the years, we have increased our commitment to this appellation with the purchase of two spectacular vineyards, Candlestick Ridge (28 acres) and Stout Ranch (36 acres). To encourage further complexity, we bottle-age this wine a year longer than our other wines prior to release. As a result, our Howell Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon offers excellent structure and deep color. This wine is suitable for long-term cellaring.

2014 Cakebread Napa Valley Merlot
Winemaker’s Notes: Cakebread Cellars Merlot is dark garnet in color, reflecting its rich fruit character. Subtle aromas of blackberries, black tea leaves, dried herbs and vanillin are followed on the palate by fresh plum and cherry flavors offset by notes of black pepper and cassis, carrying into a touch of French oak on the finish.
2014 Lutum Gaps Crown Vineyard Chardonnay
96 Points, Antonio Galloni, Vinous: The 2014 Chardonnay Gap's Crown Vineyard is all class. Silky, layered and wonderfully nuanced, the Gap's Crown oozes personality. Candied lemon peel, jasmine, sage and white pepper are some of the many signatures that develop in the glass. The 2014 is understand and soft-spoken, but there is no shortage of nuance. This is a stunning Chardonnay from Gavin Chanin. 09/16

2012 Flaccianello della Pieve Fontodi
97Points, Antoni Galloni, Vinous: The 2012 Flaccianello della Pieve, a selection of the estate's best fruit, presents a darker, more virile expression of Sangiovese. Here, too, the purity of the flavors is truly striking. Cinnamon, cloves, new leather, licorice and plums are some of the notes that soar from the glass. The 2012 is full-bodied and voluptuous, in classic Flaccianello style, but the new French oak is much better integrated than it often is at this stage, the result of a move to lower toast levels over the last few years. This is one of the finest young Flaccianellos I can remember. Simply put, the 2012 Flaccianello is a real stunner. Wow! 09/15

2010 Saint Pierre
97 Points, Robert Parker, The Wine Advocate: The final blend of 78% Cabernet Sauvignon and 22% Merlot has resulted in a wine of great power, stature, gravitas and density. The wine has a black purple color and a brilliant nose of scorched earth, creme de cassis, espresso roast, blackberries, truffles and licorice. Full-bodied, extremely powerful, yet with abundant sweet tannin, this stunning effort should prove sensational if given 7-10 years of cellaring. It should also last for 30-40 years... 2/13

Pouilly Fuisse Cuvee Claude Denogent Les Cras Vieilles Vignes Robert-Denogent
92 Points, Allen Meadows, Burghound: This is the first wine to display much in the way of post-bottling reduction but in this case it's enough to warrant a thorough aeration if you're determined to try a bottle young. Otherwise there is superb richness, volume and mouth coating dry extract to support the medium weight flavors that are at once succulent but powerful while delivering excellent length on the driving finish. This isn't especially refined but it is certainly impressive and very clearly built-to-age. 10/16
2015 Ester Nin "Nit de Nin" Mas dEn Cacador Priorat
97 Points, Luis Gutierrez, Wine Advocate: The Nit de Nin family has grown with the addition of a new vineyard. The wine produced since 2003 comes from Mas d'en Caçador-this was always named on the label, but it is now also specified in the wine name to distinguish between the new vineyard. The 2015 Nit de Nin Mas d'en Caçador comes from the vineyard mentioned in the name, a famous place in Porrera planted with old vines of Garnacha Negra, Garnacha Peluda and Cariñena. It fermented in an oak vat with indigenous yeasts and matured in a similar vat for 18 months. It's heady and ripe, exuberant and very open, a hedonistic, round and lush wine. The palate reveals very fine tannins and great harmony. 4,774 bottles and some larger formats were filled in April 2017. 4/18
2015 Sociando Mallet
93 Points, James Suckling: Some graphite and toasted spicy fruits, which create an impressive opening. Iodine and dark berries follow. The palate has a similarly spicy start, which builds waves of fine, ripe tannins that hold impressively fresh and deep. 2/18
90 Points, Antonio Galloni, Vinous: One of the standouts of the vintage, the 2015 Sociando Mallet is all finesse. Light on its feet, gracious and super-expressive, the 2015 speaks to class above all else. The flavors are bright and beautifully lifted in this polished, sophisticated Haut-Médoc. Although a touch light, the 2015 is very pretty. The blend is 50% Merlot, 45% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Cabernet Franc. 2/18
