Dr. Jay Moorman is the CEO of CTI (Chesapeake Technologies International), a platform company under the Bluestone Investment Partner portfolio. CTI is a leading technology provider in the defense industry specializing in software solutions and multi-domain integration, government open platforms for situational awareness, data visualization and analytics, and advanced electromagnetic capabilities for the invisible battlespaces.
Jay has been a technology leader with over twenty-five years of experience developing and implementing government and commercial solutions that drive transformative growth. Prior to joining CTI, he created scalable, cutting-edge solutions in support of the U.S. defense and intelligence communities with Bell Labs, Alcatel-Lucent, and LGS Innovations. He also helped lead the company through the sale of LGS from Madison-Dearborn Partners (MDP) and the subsequent integration with CACI. He then served as senior vice president for CACI National Security and Innovation Solutions sector where he was head of LGS Labs. In this role, Dr. Moorman led innovations that spanned across multiple disciplines such as 5G communications, software defined radios, EW/cyber operations, and resilient architectures.
A graduate of the University of Illinois, Dr. Moorman received his doctorate in electrical engineering with a specialization in wireless networks. He spent time in R&D in the automotive industry with Delco Electronics (General Motors) and in the telecommunications industry while at Lucent technologies. He is a strong advocate of STEM education and continues his involvement as an adjunct professor at the Colorado School of Mines in the Computer Science department.
