In the wake of George Floyd’s death this year, Martin Okner, Association for Corporate Growth® (ACG)
Chairman of the Board of Directors and dpHUE President and COO, convened a Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion
(DEI) Task Force to create a policy and complimentary programming to help foster a more equitable and
inclusive middle market.
The DEI initiative was featured in PitchBook's Q3 2020 US PE Middle Market Report, which was sponsored by Antares Capital and GLG and presented in partnership with ACG. The report offers the many trends afoot in the US middle market, including how easily available credit and Fed stimulus are helping grease the wheels of dealmaking. Key takeaways include:
Middle-market fundraising totals are on pace to fall short of $100 billion for the first time since 2015
Add-ons have grown increasingly popular in 2020 as a perceived way to reduce risk
For the first time since 2009, there has been a substantial reduction in sponsor-to-sponsor exit activity
For ACG's feature, Middle Market Growth® Editor in Chief Kathryn Mulligan interviewed task force members Cornelia Cheng and Rich Grant about how their respective career experiences have informed their perspectives and aspirations as well as their recommendations for meaningful change.
