Krista VanMoorlehem

Minnesota Wine School

Certified Sommelier, GM, Race Director

Krista VanMoorlehem is a Certified Sommelier (Court of Master Sommelier 2015), but far from a wine snob. She has a straightforward approach and doesn't believe in making things more complicated than necessary.

She has been in the restaurant industry for 25 years. As a General Manager, she was frustrated by her wine sales. She also knew that her staff wasn't getting the training they needed to effectively sell wine.

This is what began her journey into Wine Education. Krista wanted her staff to feel comfortable and knowledgeable discussing wine. If not, they become order takers and miss opportunities to improve a guest's experience.

Covid brought an unexpected shift from restaurants to private wine training. Zoom wine events quickly became very popular and the shift brought wine training into people's homes. Krista's passion is to give people the knowledge they need to find new wines they love. Uncorking wine one bottle at a time.
