Is sustainability the new norm in M&A?

This was the question put to some 70 guests at the start of a networking lunch, hosted by ERM at the CIRCL in Amsterdam. At the start around 55% of participants voted yes, 18% no and 27% were unsure. ERM’s Tim van der Weide facilitated a lively panel discussion with Joy Roeterdink from Suitsupply and Tom Vermaesen from Refresco, who presented the measures they are taking to create value through sustainability. By the end of the event, opinion had shifted further towards “yes”..... sustainability is the new norm in M&A!
