New Member Approval Process

For over thirty years, ACG Cincinnati has proudly cultivated a reputation for quality – of our members, content, and networking. We remain the only organization serving the middle-market transaction ecosystem and you will find our events energized, dynamic and often sold-out. Our members include eminent CEOs, CFOs, Corp Devs, Accountants, Attorneys, Commercial Bankers, Investment Bankers, Merchant Bankers, Consultants, and Private Capital Providers all of whom are committed to a collegial code of ethics that creates a trusting and welcoming environment where members can learn, connect, and grow.

The Application Process

  • Potential members will complete an application. We strongly suggest, but do not require, you to attend a complimentary membership meeting. By experiencing a membership meeting, we can ensure that ACG is a fit for your personal and professional goals.
  • The Membership Committee will review each application and may request a phone call if something requires clarification.
  • Membership in ACG is selective and not every applicant will be accepted.

Membership Categories:

  1. Corporate Members work for a company that sells products. Member job functions include growing the company organically, through acquisitions, divestitures, joint ventures, alliances, strategic product development, licensing, and franchising. Titles include Chairperson, CEO, President, COO, CFO, SVP or VP. Members should be directly responsible for corporate growth, corporate development, strategy and/or mergers and acquisitions. This category can include serial CEOs/CFOs or other high-level executives who may currently be in transition.
  2. Equity Members represent the investment community, including private equity firms and other direct sources of private equity. Titles include Partner, Managing Director, Principal, Senior Analyst.
  1. Professional Service Organization Members are important senior advisors and sponsors of the chapter and include prominent accountants, attorneys, bankers, consultants of all ilk, financial planners, insurance providers, and recruiters. The service firm’s principal offer is within the practice areas of facilitating corporate growth, corporate development, and/or mergers and acquisitions or working with business owners as a personal advisor as part of a transaction. Titles include Partner, Managing Director, Practice Director, Principal, Senior Associate. The Partner, Principal or Director of the service firm should have direct accountability for qualifying services (e.g., corporate growth, corporate development, or mergers and acquisitions) or serve in a senior business development role assisting those service professionals or an emerging leader recommended by the senior professionals of the firm.

Code of Conduct:

Every successful deal professional knows that relationships are the single most important factor in their success. Two generations of professionals have planned their business development efforts around ACG because we provide access to the right people in the right way.

Our goal is to help you make, maintain, and grow serious business relationships. Here is just a few of the ways we take a personal interest in your success:

  • Each event has a generous amount of time dedicated to networking.
  • We assign each new member with a buddy to make introductions.
  • We host New Member Meetups prior to the monthly meetings so that you can connect with Chapter Leaders in a smaller, less intimidating setting.
  • We schedule intentional check-ins with new members during the first year to ensure your experience is a success.
  • We hold several curated networking sessions per year and schedule 1:1 meeting for you with key business leaders.
  • The attendance list is available in advance to help you to network efficiently.
  • Feel free to ask our Chapter Director or Board to arrange introductions.

Be the type of person you look forward to meeting and doing business with repeatedly. We encourage you to make new contacts and to follow up on an individual basis to learn more about that member. A few caveats:

  • Be mindful that membership data is privileged. By joining ACG, you have a duty to protect each other from unwarranted solicitations.
  • Member data cannot be shared with non-members.
  • Mass solicitations - by email, direct mail, or telemarketers - are prohibited.
  • Aggressive sales tactics are never acceptable in ACG.
  • Violating ACG’s networking decorum can result in expulsion from the organization.
