Alex Hartel, CPA, CVA

EDUCATION AND CREDENTIALS 

Mr. Hartel has an undergraduate degree in Finance from Liberty University and a Master of Science in Accounting degree from Southern Polytechnic State University. Mr. Hartel is a Certified Public Accountant in the State of Georgia and is a member of the Georgia Society of CPAs. In addition, he is a Certified Valuation Analyst (CVA) and a member of the National Association of Certified Valuators and Analysts (NACVA).  

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE 

Mr. Hartel is a Manager in Warren Averett’s Forensic and Valuation Services Group. He has more than eight years of experience in business valuation, including approximately five years of experience in ESOP valuation and advisory services.  

Mr. Hartel’s appraisals have been used for a variety of purposes, including ESOP formation and annual administration; shareholder buyouts; and estate and gift tax planning. He has served clients across multiple industries, including construction, manufacturing, distribution, engineering, technology, and real estate. He has prepared fairness opinions, both buy-side and sell-side, for ESOP transactions. Over the past approximately two years, Mr. Hartel has served in over 30 engagements, including valuations and fairness opinions, for ESOP companies. 

In addition to his valuation and ESOP advisory work, Mr. Hartel has performed transfer pricing consulting for multinational companies in multiple industries. Earlier in his career, he worked in the internal accounting department at a software company.
