Ben Lopez

Ben Lopez is a Senior Associate at Mercato where he marries his interest in entrepreneurship
and finance to his love of learning. During his professional career Ben has gone from
scientist—reverse-engineering brand products for generic development at Allergan
Pharmaceuticals—to CEO to investor. He founded both Neighbor Boys and Outbdcars.com,
served as the Chair of the Lassonde New Venture  Development, and immediately prior to
Mercato, worked as a private equity Senior Investment Analyst at Utah Retirement Systems. 
Ben earned his M.B.A. from the David Eccles School of Business at the University of Utah, and
his B.S. in chemistry from the University of Utah. As a senior associate, he currently sits on the
board of directors at Kuali and observers at ObservePoint and Beam Benefits.
