Richard is a Chartered Accountant and Corporate Finance advisor with more than 10 years’ experience in the northern market. He is a Founding Partner of Tosca Debt Capital (‘TDC’), which he set up alongside Gary Davison in September 2015. To date, TDC has raised over £300m of institutional capital and invested over £160m to support northern businesses with their growth aspirations; this growth has resulted in four successful exits for TDC, resulting in strong returns for investors.

20 Years plus financial services experience, majority in asset based lending sector.

Recognised deal-maker with a proven track record in deal origination, driving business growth in numerous senior roles.

Previous roles include Commercial Director Shawbrook Business Credit, Executive Sales Director Centric Commercial Finance, Regional Director GE Commercial Finance. Stuart also held roles at Davenham, Barclays & Lloyds Banking Group.

Prior to joining GCA Altium, Richard spent 13 years at Close Brothers, Houlihan Lokey and latterly DC Advisory. He has advised both Private Equity and Corporate clients on a range of transactions including acquisition financings, refinancings, dividend recapitalisations, staple debt financing, and restructurings across a variety of sectors. Prior to this, Richard worked in asset management at JP Morgan.

Working closely with corporate clients, private equity houses, external advisers and internal relationship teams to structure and fund event driven debt finance deals in the UK mid-market. 

Primary responsibilities include: financial analysis and modelling; commercial deal negotiation; capital/debt structuring advisory.
