General Manager

Steve was the founder and CEO of Newton Software, a human-capital SaaS solution for corporate hiring. Newton was launched in 2009 and sold applicant tracking software to SMB's.

In 2015, Newton was purchased by the fifth-largest payroll provider in the U.S., Paycor. In the two years following its acquisition, Steve was the General Manager of Newton for Paycor. During this time annual recurring revenue almost tripled.

Before Newton, Steve founded Gravity Technologies, a Bay Area technology-focused recruiting company. Gravity was named one of the Bay Area's fastest growing companies in 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008.

Prior to HR software and recruiting he worked in politics in New Hampshire and Idaho. He is currently advising B2B software startups on product excellence, user-interface design, and sales execution.

Bernard Lauper

Bernard Lauper joined MacCorkle Insurance in 1993, where he held a series of positions and then became CEO before selling the company to Risk Strategies in Boston in 2015.  During Bernard’s insurance career, he has been directly involved with virtually all aspects of insurance. Bernard Lauper is a first generation San Franciscan who attended school both in San Francisco and Geneva, Switzerland. Early in life Bernard showed his academic “chops” by repeating kindergarten. Despite his early academic failures, Bernard was admitted to the University of California, Davis. While at Davis, Bernard majored in economics and tippled in the viticulture department. Bernard has worked in the insurance industry since college. Bernard has been accidentally seated on both non-profit and for-profit boards and has recently stepped down from the San Mateo Community College Foundation. Bernard married All American Pam Lauper from Fargo, North Dakota and make their home in San Francisco.

Sanjay is a leader in Seiler’s international and business tax practice. Sanjay’s practice focuses on international and corporate (M&A) tax planning services for multi-national corporations and other entities. He provides tax, operational and business consulting services to clients on various matters including global supply chain planning and alignment, IP strategy, CFC planning, PFIC planning, foreign tax optimization and other related tax and operational issues. He also regularly consults with his clients on global transfer pricing matters.

Sanjay works with an extensive network of foreign tax consultants around the world in over 130+ jurisdictions through HLB International, a global network of independent firms.

Senior Associate

Tom Gotsch, a Senior Associate of MHT Partners, is focused on providing advisory and transaction execution services to technology-enabled service, business services, and consumer-focused companies. Prior to joining MHT Partners, Tom worked for Raytheon as a Program Manager, leading diverse product teams in the production and development of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles as well as Infrared and Electronic Warfare technologies. Prior work experience also includes time at Cappello Capital and Google.

Tom earned an MBA from the Anderson School of Management at UCLA and graduated with distinction from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo with B.S. and M.S. degrees in Industrial Engineering.
