Augusto Bassanini

United Grain Corporation
CEO

President and CEO Augusto Bassanini has been leading the innovative grain merchandising, and supply-chain management team at United Grain Corp. (UGC) for more than 22 years.
The seasoned Italian-born executive joined UGC in 1999. Prior to his current role, he served as Vice President of Grain Marketing overseeing merchandising and trading activities while expanding UGC’s global presence. He began his career at UGC as Risk Manager and Senior Trader for the soft white wheat product line.
As a fourth generation in agribusiness, Bassanini was born and raised in the Italian region of Lombardy, the breadbasket for the nation, where his family owned and operated a dairy, creamery, and hog operation.  In the late 80’s the Bassaninis took a leap of faith and moved their hog business to America, in the Hoosier state of Indiana, where Bassanini earned a degree in Agricultural Economics at Purdue University before pursuing a career in the grain export business.
