In 1953, Johnstone Supply started with a single modest store operating in Portland, Oregon, to serve the needs of local contractors. That first Johnstone Supply may have been small, but it operated with a commitment to finding the best products for its customers and servicing them like nobody else. Today, Johnstone Supply is the top cooperative wholesale distributor in the country and a recognized national leader in the HVACR industry. With regional distribution centers based in Portland, Oregon, Memphis, Tennessee, Allentown, Pennsylvania, Jacksonville, Florida, and Las Vegas, Nevada, the company boasts over 390 independently-owned stores throughout the United States and beyond, totaling over 1.6 billion dollars in annual sales.
Throughout his career, DeWight has worked for industry leading companies like General Electric, General Motors and Texas Instruments. While at GE, DeWight served as VP of Marketing for a business unit within GE Capital that won the GE Chairman's award for record profit turnaround. At GM, DeWight was a Program Manager in Advanced Engineering and led the development of an award winning, electronic chassis sytem, designed to improve vehicle stability and control for high end, luxury vehicles. During his years at Texas Instruments, DeWight was an Electrical Engineer in the Defense Electronics Division, where he designed real-time processing algorithms for the High-speed Anti-Radiation Missile (HARM), used by the U.S. Air Force and U.S. Navy.
