Mr. Sauter helps defense/aerospace, security and tech companies achieve their M&A and capital-raising objectives in the lower middle market. Prior to Pickwick, Mr. Sauter led the Spectrum Group’s programmatic due-diligence services for private-equity investors in the federal and defense sectors; helped found the first business accelerator for security technology and managed its contract with the NSA; and served as a senior executive at several emerging companies. He’s co-author of McGraw Hill’s leading university textbook Homeland Security: A Complete Guide. Mr. Sauter recently appeared as a military history expert on the History Channel series: “The Truth is Out There/Military Mysteries.” He founded and manages the non-profit POW Investigative Project www.powinvestigativeproject.org, a multi-lingual crowdsourcing platform seeking clues on the fate of American POWs reported alive in enemy captivity but never returned or accounted for after the Korean and Cold Wars.
Mr. Sauter earned a BA from Harvard University and MS from Columbia University. As a US Army officer, Mr. Sauter led missions in the Korean DMZ and commanded a Special Forces A Team.
