David Andersen is market president for the UMB Commercial Banking division in Utah, a region that's quickly become one of UMB Bank's most strategic growth markets. David is responsible for growing UMB's footprint in Utah, as well as overseeing the recruiting, hiring and development of the UMB Middle Market Banking team for the region.
David brings a depth of experience to his leadership as market president. He moved to his current position from a team lead role in UMB Commercial Banking. He has more than 15 years' commercial and business banking experience, having served as vice president and middle market banker for JPMorgan Chase and as business banking manager for Wells Fargo before joining UMB.
David earned a Bachelor of Science in business administration (finance emphasis) from Brigham-Young University-Idaho and a Master of Business Administration (finance emphasis) from Colorado State University. David has also received formal credit training though College of Commercial Credit, Moody's Analytics Certification and Omega Commercial Banking Certification.
David is an active mentor with American Corporate Partners (ACP), supporting veterans transitioning to a private corporate environment. He is also on the Board of Governors for the Salt Lake Chamber, serving on its Housing Gap and Finance committee and is active in his church service. David and his wife are the proud parents of five children and enjoy calling Salt Lake City their home.
