From Venture to Growth

Joe Froehle joined The Heritage Group’s Strategy + M&A team in 2021. In his role as Associate Director, he engages with THG’s portfolio companies on a variety of strategic projects. A focus of his has been supporting Retriev Technologies, a battery recycling and lifecycle management company which was added to THG’s portfolio in 2021 and recently acquired Battery Solutions, an end-of-life battery aggregator. Joe has worked on a number of projects for Retriev, including growth forecasting, market/competitive assessments, and technology development.

Prior to joining The Heritage Group, Joe spent 4 years in strategy consulting at Bain & Company in their Chicago office. While at Bain, Joe advised clients across a number of industries, with a majority of his time spent in the private equity, mining, retail, and healthcare verticals.

Joe attended Indiana University–Bloomington and received a BS in Economic Consulting and Public Policy Analysis from the Kelley School of Business.

Jonathan Schalliol is Director at HG Ventures, the early-stage investing arm of The Heritage Group.  Since joining THG, Jonathan has performed multiple corporate development roles, most recently as Director, Strategy + M&A.

Prior to THG, he served as Global Business Strategist for Plug & Play after serving for seven years as Chief Financial Officer and Vice President, Business Development for WisdomTools, an early leader in geospatial data and augmented reality technology. Jonathan has also worked in investment banking for Merrill Lynch, management consulting for Ernst & Young, and marketing for Apple.

Jonathan is an active member of the local entrepreneurial community, and he is a board member of the Venture Club of Indiana. Jonathan received an MBA in Entrepreneurship & Corporate Innovation from the Kelley School of Business and he received a BS in Business, Computer Information Systems from the Kelley School of Business, where he was named Chancellor’s Scholar.
