Josh Lawler is an equity partner at the law firm of Zuber Lawler, where he leads the New Technology Practice Group, focusing on transactions involving novel legal issues presented by developing technology including Distributed Ledger Technologies (Blockchain, NFTs, DAOs) artificial intelligence, robotics, virtual/augmented reality and Metaverse platforms and delivery channels.  Josh has over twenty-five years of experience as a securities attorney with focuses on finance and mergers and acquisitions, as well as intellectual property development and licensing.  Zuber Lawler is a full-service law firm and a minority owned enterprise with offices in Los Angeles, Chicago, New York, Northern California, Austin, Phoenix and Denver. Prior to joining Zuber Lawler, Josh earned a Bachelor of Science from Duke University in biological psychology, with a minor in genetics and earned honors at Northwestern University School of Law, and practiced corporate securities law at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher and Flom, LLP. 

An entrepreneur who has successfully built and exited his own startup, Jor combines his experience as a corporate/securities attorney, tech investor, startup founder, and product manager to bring additional depth to management teams. As an attorney, he is most well-known for his expertise in corporate transactions and alternative finance, including EB-5, venture capital, crowdfunding, and blockchain/crypto (including ICOs & STOs). Under his leadership, his law firm grew to be the dominant firm in EB-5 finance and a major contender in other areas. As co-founder of VerifyInvestor.com, he led the company to become the world’s most used accredited investor verification service and obtained a successful exit in under 5 years.  Among other things, he currently sits on the Board of Prime Trust, which is the one-stop shop for financial infrastructure APIs and plug and play widgets that allow fintech and digital asset companies to innovate quickly, securely, and reliably, and advises Infinity Ventures Crypto, which is a early-stage venture fund focused on defi, web3, and gaming.

Alon is a Founding Partner of Draper Goren Holm, a Venture Studio focused on accelerating and incubating early-stage blockchain startups.

Alon is also Co-Founder of LA Blockchain Summit. He is an investor, speaker, hostand leader of one of Southern California’s largest group of investors and entrepreneurs, 805 Startups, with a laser-focussed eye on building and supporting startups and entrepreneurs.

A pioneer in the crowdfunding space, Alon had been involved in over $200 Million Dollars in online investment transactions. He has developed technology that powers websites and financial transactions for Fortune 500 companies and well-known foundations such as Coca-Cola, American Express, ATB Financial and Global Philanthropy Group. InvestedIn, Alon’s previous company, created a white label fundraising portal for individuals and businesses hoping to crowdfund ventures independently of major platforms. Later, his support of the JOBS Act, online media expertise and day-to-day interactions with venture funds, investors and financial professionals inspired him to create a solution to market hedge funds, real estate funds and venture funds to investors over the internet.

Before InvestedIn, Alon worked for entertainment tech giants such as Amazon, IMDb and MySpace where he managed customer experience, product development and support. InvestedIn was named “Best Marketplace Platform” by the Los Angeles Venture Association in 2013 and he was named to the Socaltech 50 for his work with InvestedIn. Alon is a thought leader on social enterprise, venture capital and crowdfunding, and has spoken at SXSW V2V, Kingonomics and many other conferences and been featured in prominent publications including Forbes, WSJ, Washington Post, TechCrunch and VentureBeat.

Phil Liu is Chief Legal Officer at Arca. In his role, Phil oversees product structuring and ensures legal compliance for Arca’s crypto investment management platform. A finance industry veteran with over 20 years’ experience, Phil has worked with some of the world’s biggest banks and law firms. Phil previously served as General Counsel at a leading managed futures asset management company and was responsible for the legal structuring of the first actively managed, managed futures mutual fund. Phil holds a Juris Doctor and Bachelor of Commerce, Accounting from the University of British Columbia.
