Katie Nixon

Katie is an Executive Vice President and Chief Investment Officer for the Wealth Management business at Northern Trust. In that capacity, Katie leads the national investment management practice for Northern Trust’s Wealth Management business from the firm’s Chicago headquarters. Her responsibilities include investment policy development with a particular focus on portfolio construction and implementation. She also directs the investment management activities of over 200 Northern Trust portfolio managers across the firm’s 60+ Wealth Management offices. Katie sits on the Firm’s Investment Policy Committee and Tactical Asset Allocation Committee, and she chairs the Wealth Management Investment Advisory Committee. Katie was selected as one of Private Asset Management’s ‘50 Most Influential Women in Private Wealth’ for 2016.

Prior to joining Northern Trust, Ms. Nixon worked at U.S. Trust Company for eighteen years in several investment related capacities, including Managing Director and Division Manager in the Wealth Management Division in New York, overseeing a group of portfolio managers and client service officers with total combined assets under management in excess of $7 Billion. Ms. Nixon also served on US Trust's Portfolio Policy Committee as well as the Private Equity Investment Committee.

Katie received her B.A. from Wellesley College and her M.B.A. in Finance from New York University, Stern School of Business where she graduated with distinction, Beta Gamma Sigma, and was a Stern Scholar. She has received the designations of both Certified Investment Management Analyst (CIMA®) and Certified Private Wealth Advisor (CPWA®) from the Investment Management Consultants Association. Further, she has been awarded the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation, and is also a member of the New York Society of Security Analysts and the Investment Management Consultants Association (IMCA).

Damian Burke is a Managing Director on our lower middle market investment team.  Mr. Burke joined Main Street in 2019.  His responsibilities include managing a portfolio of lower middle market investments where he is an active board member and assists those companies with various strategic initiatives, capital raises and M&A activity.  Mr. Burke is also responsible for originating and executing on new investments for the firm.  Mr. Burke holds an M. Eng. in Chemical Engineering from University College, London and an MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.

Mr. Glova is President and Managing Director in Vantage Point’s San Diego office.  Mr. Glova has performed valuations of business entities for purchase price allocations (ASC 805), goodwill impairment testing (ASC 350), share-based compensation valuations (IRC 409A and ASC 718), ESOP transactions, board advisory, shareholder buy-outs, fairness opinions, and for fundraising support. Mr. Glova has served domestic and international clients in an array of industries including life sciences, technology, real estate and industrials, among others.  He has earned the Certified Valuation Analyst (CVA) designation with the National Association of Certified Valuators and Analysts (NACVA). Mr. Glova holds a B.S. in Finance from The Pennsylvania State University.

Whitney is a partner in the Real Estate, Land Use and Natural Resources Practice Group in the firm's San Diego office. She is the leader of the firm’s Cannabis Industry Team and serves on the firm's Pro Bono, Recruiting and Diversity & Inclusion committees, as well as numerous industry-specific teams. Whitney serves as general counsel for the San Diego Humane Society and is on the Board of Directors for YWCA.  Whitney is a registered lobbyist with the City of San Diego, the County of San Diego, San Diego Regional Airport Authority, the San Diego Port Authority and the City of Los Angeles. Additionally, Whitney also is a committed pro bono attorney and, in 2016, she was honored with the firm’s Bob Gerber Pro Bono Attorney of the Year Award in recognition of her commitment to volunteering legal services to those in need.

KMCP was formerly known as PCG Corporate Partners Advisors ll, a spin-off from Pacific Corporate Group Holdings. Mr. Kelleher has been a board director of many companies, including three public-trade companies. Mr. Kelleher is currently a Director of Allied Resource Corporation, eCORP, Orbcomm, Pura Globe Inc., Quantum Restaurants, Fulcrum Building Group, and Fresh Thyme Farmers Market. Mr. Kelleher received his Masters in Accounting from New York University and his BA in History from Hamilton College.

Nicolas Lopez joined HCAP Partners in 2013 and is responsible for originating, structuring, closing, and monitoring portfolio investments. He has been instrumental in the firm’s investments into eleven companies, many of which achieved fast growth and realized significant value for shareholders and employees. Nicolas is currently a board member of HCAP Partners portfolio companies Lone Star Analysis and DYPER™ and is a board observer for 5th Kind.  He attended the University of Southern California, earning an MBA and San Diego State University, earning a BS in Business Administration. He is also a CFA charterholder.

Joel Weinstein is a Managing Director with RA Capital Advisors.  Mr. Weinstein has more than 20 years of experience in investment banking and has advised on over $10B of transactions.  He has advised public and private company companies on mergers, acquisitions, capital raises, financings, and strategic advisory assignments.  Mr. Weinstein is a CFA charter holder, CPA (Inactive), and a FINRA-registered securities principal. He earned his bachelor’s degree in finance and master’s degree in accounting from Tulane University’s A.B. Freeman School of Business.

Dan Yates is CEO of Endeavor Bank.  Over his four decades in the banking industry, Dan has founded two banks – Regents Bank which he grew to over $620 million in assets in 12 years and recently Endeavor Bank. In addition to creating banks from the ground up, Dan has sold, acquired, and merged banks, raised capital for banks, and, as a consultant and CEO, has turned around banks. Prior to co-founding Endeavor Bank, Dan served as President and CEO of Neighborhood National Bank in San Diego, a community development bank focused on low- to moderate-income communities. He is a former Board Member of the Western Bankers Association and is currently the President and Board Member of The Conrad Prebys Foundation. Dan is a native San Diegan.

Executive Director of The Nonprofit Institute

Dr. Emily Young is the executive director of The Nonprofit Institute. She has spent more than 20 years in various positions in philanthropy, as well as higher education. Prior to the University of San Diego, she served as vice president of community impact at The San Diego Foundation, where she was first hired to build its Environment Program in 2000. During her time at The San Diego Foundation, Dr. Young worked with numerous funders and community leaders to catalyze and facilitate regional and statewide collaboratives, developing and implementing grant-making programs around climate change, conservation and youth access to the outdoors, and clean air/water efforts in tribal and other disadvantaged communities. Prior to The San Diego Foundation, Emily was an assistant professor at the University of Arizona, where she taught courses on environment and society, geography, and Latin America. Dr. Young graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with a double BA in Ibero-American Studies and Spanish, and a MS in geography. She received a PhD in geography from the University of Texas at Austin.

As Vice President, Chief Development & Stewardship Officer, Brian leads the Development and Stewardship Division, overseeing The San Diego Foundation donor engagement and fundraising activities. He is responsible for expanding and diversifying the organization’s donor base through strategic efforts that will grow The Foundation’s assets and increase the impact of charitable giving in the region.  Prior to joining The Foundation, Brian served as Senior Executive Director of Development for UC San Diego Health Sciences, where he managed a diverse team of development professionals responsible for principal and major gifts. Prior to this, Brian was Director of Development at Columbia University Medical Center and Development Officer at New York University, where he helped facilitate major-and-principal gifts. He earned his bachelor’s degree at Boston College, as well as two master’s degrees in Strategic Communications from Columbia University, and World History from New York University.
