Overview
ACG Kentucky, in partnership with the Louisville Branch of the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis and the Kentuckiana Chapter of the Exit Planning Institute, invite you to attend a virtual presentation and panel discussion on May 11, 2021.
St. Louis Fed senior economist Ana Maria Santacreu will present Rethinking Global Supply Chains During COVID-19. During her presentation, Santacreu will discuss how the COVID-19 pandemic has exposed vulnerabilities resulting from a heavy dependence on global supply chains—temporary trade restrictions led to supply shortages, while lockdown and containment policies across the world impacted most sectors in the economy through various channels.
Santacreu will provide an overview of the current debate over the future of global supply chains and address several questions raised by policymakers, academics and the media:
- What is the role of global supply chains in transmitting shocks across countries?
- Can governments promote the resilience and robustness of global supply chains?
- Should governments ensure the provision of essential goods during times of crisis?
A moderated discussion involving Louisville business leaders will follow, and an audience Q&A will wrap up the event.
There is no cost to participate, but registration is required by May 7. You’ll receive a confirmation email upon registering, followed by detailed login instructions as the event date nears.
