Women would be wise to learn how to navigate the new office politics, executive coaches say

In certain respects, remote work could level the political playing field for men and women. Online meetings limit men's chances "to engage in Machiavellian tactics of manipulation," such as staying late when the boss does or using ingratiating body language during physical meetings. Yet, just 29% of women say working from home during the coronavirus era has positively affected their career, compared with 57% of men, according to a recent poll. Devising additional techniques to be seen and heard virtually will require extra effort, but could make the difference.
