Norm Miller, PhD

Norm Miller, PhD, is the Ernest W. Hahn Chair of Real Estate Finance at the University of San Diego School of Business and is affiliated with the Burnham-Moores Center for Real Estate. Previously, Miller was the academic and real estate center director at the University of Cincinnati. He also held visiting teaching roles at DePaul University, the University of Hawaii and the University of Georgia. Miller is the recipient of numerous prestigious awards and has published academic research papers, books and articles for trade publications on housing, brokerage, mortgage risk, valuation, forecasting, sustainable real estate, workplace trends and other topics. Known for his pioneering work on the economics of green and sustainable real estate, Miller was the founding editor, and the current editor Emeritus of the Journal of Sustainable Real Estate. He co-authored Commercial Real Estate Analysis and Investment with David Geltner of MIT (in its third edition), which is the leading graduate real estate textbook in the world. Miller served as vice president of analytics at CoStar and is currently a research principal with Collateral Analytics. He is active on the editorial board of several national/international journals, is a past president of ARES, serves on the advisory boards of Pathfinders, Measurabl, Surefield and Verdani, and is a Homer Hoyt Land Use Institute faculty and board member. As Managing Director of Voit Real Estate Services, Eric has direct oversight and P&L responsibility for the San Diego region. Eric is focused on executing the region’s growth initiatives which includes opening the Carlsbad office and growing the revenue by 40% in 2016. The growth will focus on adding established brokers with top tier reputations with emphasis on office, industrial. retail, tenant representation and capital markets. Eric brings a successful twenty-seven-year brokerage career to Voit Real Estate Services. Prior to joining Voit, Eric was an Executive Director with Cushman & Wakefield. While there, he received the prestigious Cushman & Wakefield Chairman’s Circle Award in 2005, 2008, 2009 and 2010. In addition, Eric received the Presidents Circle award in 2008, 2011 and 2012. His accomplishments include the sale and leasing of over 2,000 transactions totaling over 25 million square feet of space and 100 acres of land with a total value of approximately $3 Billion. As a result of an accident in January 2006, Mr. Northbrook is the founder of the HeadNorth Fund at Sharp Healthcare Foundation. HeadNorth provides help and hope to those individuals and families afflicted with a spinal cord injury living in San Diego County. In addition to being featured in Ron Santomassimo’s book Brokers Who Dominate, Mr. Northbrook has also received numerous community service awards during his tenure. Eric currently serves on the board of Sharp Healthcare Foundation and is a champion for Challenged Athletes Foundation , CAF.

Matt Oatman has 15 years of financial services experience, primarily in commercial banking. He started his banking career in 2006 as an analyst at Comerica Bank, where he completed the company's formal credit training program. Matt joined Wells Fargo as a relationship manager in 2012 , where he is responsible for the execution and delivery of credit, treasury and other ancillary bank products for a wide array of middle market and mid-corporate businesses and real estate investors in the San Diego region. Matt earned his BS in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance and a minor in Economics from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. He is a San Diego native currently residing with his family in Solana Beach. Matt is a current board member for the San Diego chapter of ACG and has also been involved with a number of charitable organizations locally, including Junior Achievement, Father Joe’s Villages and the United Way. His interests outside of work include surfing, golf, travel, music and other outdoor activities.
