Green Rush - The Fast Growing Hemp and Cannabidoil Industry
ACG Raleigh Durham

The Cannabidiol (CBD) Market is forecasted to grow from USD 1.04 Billion in 2018 to USD 16.32 Billion by 2026, at a CAGR of 27.7%, during the forecast period. The market is primarily driven by the usage of CBD in wellness applications, including supplements, food & beverages and skin care. There is also a larger, relatively untapped, market for the usage of hemp in paper, textiles, clothing, bioplastics, biofuel products, and other industrial applications. North Carolina currently has approximately 16,000 acres of hemp in the fields, 5.5 million sq. ft. of licensed greenhouse grow operations, and 1,000+ licensed growers – putting our state in the top 10 hemp producers, nationally. The Farm Bill, among other things, decriminalized hemp and hemp-derived CBD. It also clearly preserved the right of regulatory agencies – like the Federal Food and Drug Administration ("FDA") – to regulate certain aspects of the hemp and CBD industries. The Farm Bill also authorized individual states to opt into primary regulatory authority over the production of hemp within their borders.
Join us as we discuss the future of hemp and CBD and the many business challenges that farmers, processors, and retailers face along with how they work together and what they need to be a success in this fast growing, multi-billion dollar industry.
