Amy Forrestal

Ms. Forrestal joined Brookwood in 2002. At Brookwood, she focuses on Merger and Acquisitions as well as private capital raising for middle market companies. Prior to joining Brookwood, Ms. Forrestal was a Managing Director in Banc of America Securities’ Mergers and Acquisitions group. Over her 15 years spent at Banc of America Securities and predecessor organizations including NationsBanc Montgomery Securities, Ms. Forrestal advised senior management teams, boards of directors and business owners in a variety of strategic and financial transactions including: acquisitions, leveraged buyouts, exclusive sales, divestitures, ESOPs, public equity and debt offerings and private equity and debt placements.

Ms. Forrestal has 25 years of experience advising companies across a broad range of industries, including: retail and consumer products and services, textiles, niche manufacturing and value-added distribution. Over the past 20 years, she has developed specific expertise in the restaurant industry working with both restaurant concepts, franchisors and franchisees on numerous assignments.

Ms. Forrestal earned a Bachelor of Arts degree cum laude with a double major in mathematics and economics from Duke University in 1987.

Ms. Forrestal lives in Atlanta with her husband and three children. She is an active volunteer in community and school related activities.

Erin Peterson

Erin M. Peterson is an Associate in the Corporate Practice and a Member of the Firm’s Air Transportation Industry Group.

Ms. Peterson serves domestic and international clients in a variety of corporate and transactional matters, with an emphasis on aircraft transactions. Her experience includes transactions involving the sale, purchase, leasing, and financing of aircraft and aircraft equipment.

Ms. Peterson received her A.B.J. in public relations, magna cum laude, from the University of Georgia in 2013. She continued her education at the University of Georgia where she earned her J.D. from the School of Law, cum laude, in 2016. During law school, Ms. Peterson served as a Notes Editor for the Georgia Law Review, completed a corporate counsel externship with Equifax, Inc., and volunteered her legal services to local entrepreneurs through the UGA Business Law Clinic.

Ms. Peterson is licensed to practice law with the State Bar of Georgia.

Outside of the office, Ms. Peterson is involved with the Atlanta tennis community as a member of both ALTA and USTA. Ms. Peterson enjoys traveling and has visited fifteen different countries.

Deborah Spitale, Senior Vice President and Business Development Officer in Escrow Services, has over 20 years’ experience in the banking industry.

Deborah joined SunTrust as an Escrow Services Business Development Officer and  has been building relationships with law firms, acquisitive clients, private equity firms, venture capital, and others within the M&A community.  Her extensive experience in providing escrow and paying agent services is frequently leveraged by clients.

With the myriad of sensitive issues involved in M&A transactions, particularly with private targets, Deb’s expertise is frequently sought out.  Deb’s consultative approach in ensuring all aspects of the transaction are executed has led her to development of a portfolio of high-profile clients as well as complex, large-scale transactions. Her keen ability to work with other professionals to craft creative solutions further distinguishes Deborah as a leader in institutional trust.

Deborah earned her Juris Doctorate from the Thomas M. Cooley Law School in Lansing Michigan and her BS degree from the University of Florida.  She is licensed to practice law in the States of Georgia and Florida.
