FRIEND OR FOE: Strategic vs. PE Firm Buyers and SellersOur speaker is Tom Carhart, former CorpDev SVP at Polycom and fresh from helping Siris, Polycom’s PE owner, sell the business to Plantronics, a strategic, for 2B. Before that, as VP CorpDev at Polycom, Tom participated in the sale of Polycom to Siris. And before that as VP CorpDev at H-P, he led ths sale of Halo Visual Collaboration to Polycom. In a word, Tom’s seen the same business transition, evolve and operate under the different styles of PE versus strategic owners.
