Overview
GROWING A PUBLICLY TRADED COMPANY IN TODAY’S FAST-CHANGING SEMICONDUCTOR SPACE
In the past year publicly traded Silicon Labs has seen its stock price increase 30. The company operates with gross margins near 60% and has more than 500 million in cash on hand. Over the past decade Silicon Labs has replaced nearly 50% of its revenue from existing products with new product lines that didn’t exist just a few years ago. How has Silicon Labs done this?
In this presentation, Ross Sabolcik, VP & General Manager of Power Products at Silicon Labs, will describe the guiding principles and disruptive technology that have enabled Silicon Labs to pivot to new growth markets while taking on significantly larger competitors.
He will discuss why Silicon Labs made substantial investments in the Internet of Things and embarked on a path of strategic acquisitions. For example, Silicon Labs recently completed the acquisition of Sigma Designs’ Z-Wave technology for 240 million, strengthening the company’s leading position in the smart home market.
Ross has been a key member of the leadership team over the last two decades, starting as an engineer. He has a Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Penn State University and a Master’s degree in computer science from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
