Terry Freeman

Head of Investments

Terry Freeman is currently Head of Investments for ATB Capital, a private equity firm making minority equity investments in Alberta based companies. In the past he served as Managing Director of Northern Plains Capital which had $140 million under management in three funds and made 17 investments in various companies. Mr. Freeman also spent fifteen years as Chief Financial Officer of Flint and its predecessors, where he managed the financial and administrative operations of the company including investor and banking relations, risk management, mergers and acquisitions and various other executive responsibilities including acting as Corporate Secretary. He currently sits on the boards of a number of private construction, energy services, private equity and real estate ventures as well as the board of directors of McCoy Global Inc., a publicly traded oilfield services company. Mr. Freeman graduated from the University of Alberta in 1982 with a Bachelor of Commerce degree, is a Fellow of the Chartered Professional Accountants of Alberta and holds the ICD.D designation from  the Institute of Corporate Directors.

Stephen Reid is President and CEO of Founders Advantage Capital Corp. – a public investment company (TSXV:FCF) that acquires majority equity positions in premium, founder-run, middle market, private companies across North America. In addition, the company successfully completed a $100 million financing with Sagard Credit Partners, which is a subsidiary of Power Corporation of Canada. Stephen is the President and CEO of Group West Corporation since 1996 which is a family office-styled investment company. Stephen is also a co-founder of Alaris Royalty Corp., where he was Senior Vice President of Business Development and focused on building relationships with all sources of investment leads

Michael Cook is a co-founder of Equicapita Income Trust, a private equity fund focused on acquiring controlling positions in Canadian small-medium enterprises. He is also a co-founder of Capita Funds Asset Management, Enercapita Energy Trust, an oil and gas fund and Rhocore Income Trust, a credit opportunities fund.

Michael spends the majority of his time on the three key elements of the Equicapita business, raising capital, investing capital in private company deals and working with investee companies on strategic initiatives.

Mr. Cook holds Chartered Accountant (1999) and Chartered Business Valuator (2002) designations in addition to a Bachelor of Commerce in Marketing (1993) from the University of Manitoba.

Paul is Managing Partner at PillarFour Capital, a Private Equity Fund he co-founded in 2015. Paul has over 20 years experience investing and advising companies in the Energy sector. Prior to founding PillarFour, Paul was the CEO of Dundee Corp's London and UAE offices ('11 - '15). Paul spent the previous six years heading the European businesses of various Canadian and US investment banks, including Thomas Weisel Partners and Westwind Partners . Prior to moving to London in 2006, Paul worked as an investment banker in Calgary and Toronto where he was focused on coverage of the North American Energy sector. Paul holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree (Finance) from the Haskayne School of Business (University of Calgary) and is a CFA Charterholder.
