INTERCONTINENTAL LOS ANGELES DOWNTOWN
The InterContinental Los Angeles Downtown is a centerpiece of the Wilshire Grand Center, which opened in June 2017 as the tallest U.S. building west of the Mississippi River. The 889-room hotel includes a “sky lobby” on the 70th floor, the Spire 73 outdoor bar, and Sora sushi restaurant on the 69th floor. The $1.1 billion project, which was developed by Korean Air and Hanjin Group, also includes 400,000 square feet of offices and 45,000 square feet of retail space. The Wilshire Grand Center is about 80 feet taller than the previous record holder, the U.S. Bank Tower.
