Selling to a Strategic or Financial Buyer?
Considerations for the Business Owner
Wednesday, July 23, 2014
5:30pm - 8:30pm
Is it better for a business owner to sell a company to a strategic buyer or to a financial buyer? Strategic buyers acquire companies that will advance plans for the buyers' existing businesses. Financial buyers, such as private equity firms, seek to invest in a company whose performance will improve over time and, ultimately, to sell the investment for a profit.
Hear a panel of experts--including a consulting and investment banking advisor to middle market companies, a seller, and a private equity executive--discuss preparing a company for sale to a financial or strategic buyer and considerations to help the business owner and his/her advisors evaluate which buyer represents the better fit for both personal and business reasons.
The panel will be followed by ACG New York Long Island Network's Clambake and Cocktails dinner and business-casual networking event at the picturesque Chateau Briand Caterers venue in Carle Place, Long Island. This event celebrates the sixth anniversary of the founding of ACG New York's Long Island Network.
