Panelists will share stories of best practices and lessons learned in navigating one or more exits from businesses they built and/or managed, including valuable feedback to advisors as to what works and what doesn’t to add value in the planning process leading up to a successful exit. Panel moderated by Joe Pucci, Chairman, Exit Planning Exchange CT Chapter and Principal at AB Bernstein.

Josh Dick sold multi-generational company Urnex Brands in April, 2015 to Cortec Group, a NYC-based private equity group. Josh remains CEO driving growth for Urnex which began on the lower east side years ago, moved to Yonkers and then to Elmsford. They sell cleaning products for coffee urns, with worldwide customers like Starbucks, McDonalds, Keurig, etc. Josh served as President from 2003-2015 orchestrating the sale. Previously he held analyst and marketing roles at Unilever, Cadbury and Salomon Brothers. Northwestern Kellogg MBA and Yale Poli Sci undergrad.
Mike NiCastro, As the CMO of Open Solutions which went public and then merged into Fiserv, Mike led the company’s growth from 1994-2008. He now works with a select few clients consulting on growth, capital raising and exit planning, while serving on a number of boards and helping young entrepreneurs. Law school graduate and undergrad in business.
Werner von Pein has spent most of his 40+ year career as CEO of various packaged goods and consumer brand companies, particularly family-owned brands. In his 3-5 years with each company, he’ll professionalize the management, improve financials, and manage family dynamics, while also orchestrating an exit for one or all of the family members. Companies and brands managed include: Financier Patisserie, Lavazza, Hebrew National, Nabisco, Melitta, Quaker Oats, and P&G. MBA from Xavier and BS Chemical Engineering from Rochester.
