"The local manufacturing of the product and managing a startup has filled my days (and some nights). I liken it to having a ‘baby’ at 69, and I’m proud to say that I’m living proof that – it’s never too late to do what you love and to make a difference." Click here to learn more.
Eric Hutchinson, Serial Entrepreneur & Formerly Madison Reed, Inc.
Eric is a serial entrepreneur, fitness fanatic, nomad, and inquisitive mind. Nothing motivates Eric more than a new adventure, a new business idea or an impossible challenge. Eric find happiness challenging his beliefs, executing new ideas and helping others achieve their goals. When Eric is not chasing his own ideas, he advises early stage companies.
In need of a hiatus from finance and insurance, Eric teamed up with Amy Errett in 2013 to launch Madison Reed. Madison Reed is disrupting traditional CPG companies like Unilever and P&G by taking women’s personal care direct to consumer. In less than three years Madison Reed has grown to be the number one seller of women’s hair color online and attracted the attention of top VC’s including True Ventures and Norwest Venture Partners. Eric stepped out of an operating role in Sept 2015 to pursue new interest.
Amidst the turmoil of the 2009 housing crisis, Eric launched Home Value Protection (HVP), an innovative insurance product that protected the value of people homes against declines in the real estate market. Backed by Kleiner Perkins Caulfield and Byers, HVP was the first new personal line insurance product to come to market in over 20 years. The business was sold to Amtrust Insurance in 2012.
Prior to becoming an entrepreneur, Eric had a career in finance working at Providian Financial and Paypal. 2004 – 2009. Click here to learn more.
