Recent data clearly shows that middle market remains a vital segment of the U.S. economy and primary driver of job growth and sales nationwide. Michigan itself has over 4,800 middle-market firms, representing 1.7 million jobs and 200 billion in sales.1
Of that, GrowthEconomy.org data shows that PE-backed middle-market companies grew jobs 86.9 percent and sales a whopping 118.4 percent, compared to 7.1 percent and 14.3 percent for all business, respectively.
