The Business Case for Gender Diversity: Recruiting and Retaining Women

Our Women in Finance Committee handpicked this very special panel of individuals coming from 3 companies with exceptional diversity programs. Hear them discuss what their companies are doing now and their growing pains along the way.

The Panel:

Luanne MacNicol | BDO USA, LLP | Director ERISA Assurance Services Regional Practice Leader, Employee Benefit Plan Audits

Rodney Martin| Warner Norcross & Judd | Partner

Debra VanHevele | Comerica Bank | Vice President, District Manager for Grand Rapids / Kalamazoo

Interesting Facts:

  • Companies with the most women board directors (WBD) outperform those with the least on ROS by 16%.

  • Companies with the most WBD outperform those with the least on ROIC by 26%.

  • Companies with sustained high representation of WBD (three or more WBD in at least four of five years) significantly outperform those with sustained low representation (zero WBD in at least four of five years) by 84 % on ROS, 60% on ROIC and by 46% on ROE.
