Brian Thede

Brian Thede has been with Ethos Specialty Insurance Services since early 2018, serving as the lead underwriter for healthcare representation and warranty policies in Ethos’ M&A insurance unit. Over the past 5 years, the Ethos Healthcare Team, a dedicated team of four individuals, has underwritten over 400 healthcare M&A transactions. Brian’s career has spanned insurance, consulting, finance and entrepreneurial ventures. Highlights include 7 years of consulting at McKinsey in New York, serving as a CEO of an insurance claims servicing business Brian sold to a large insurance brokerage, 4 years as an investment and commercial banker, and founding several businesses. Most recently, Brian pioneered the development of a coverage solution for healthcare regulatory risks in healthcare M&A beginning in 2014. After founding a regulatory diligence firm, Brian partnered with Ironshore Insurance to underwrite the regulatory exposures for representation and warranty insurance. Brian has continually worked to develop deep knowledge of the healthcare industry, and of the associated regulatory risks.

Brian holds a Master of Business Administration with distinction from the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School, and a BA in economics from Bowdoin College.
