Trends & Outlook

The Aerospace & Defense sectors have continued their divergent paths over the past year.  Commercial aerospace is experiencing a strong upcycle after generating a record 2013 for aircraft orders, deliveries and backlog.  In contrast, the defense sector is coming off a year of declining growth marked by budget uncertainty, a government shutdown and employee furloughs across both the private and public sector.   Despite headwinds within defense, the Bipartisan Budget Act of 2013 was passed, which has reduced sequestration cuts for the next two fiscal years and more importantly has provided funding certainty and clarity.

Should we expect increased defense sector M&A activity, which has been on hold due to sequestration related uncertainties?  Will the commercial aerospace supply chain sustain its massive consolidation trend?

Please join our panel of prominent executives and industry experts answer these questions and give their perspective on the developments and trends that are occurring in, and at different parts of, the aerospace and defense sector, including:

*   Are we past our prime?  Where are we in the commercial aerospace cycle?
