resulted in dismissals of the previous AD and men's basketball coach, Tyra has worked aggressively to stabilize the department and set a course for the future. A former standout baseball player and the son of U of L basketball legend, Tyra made his mark working in business and finance. He served as an operating partner for Southfield Capital, a private equity firm that invests in lower middle market companies. He directed many of their corporate investments, most recently as Chair and interim CEO of Elite Medical. Other roles included advising ISCO Industries, serving as president of Retail and Activewear for Fruit of the Loom, and chairman of Industrial Services of America.
