ACG Kansas City proudly presents an exclusive evening with
David B. Dillon
Chairman of the Board
The Kroger Co.
Hear how a small, local grocery chain grew to become one of the world's largest retailers. Kroger is ranked #23 on the 2014 Fortune 500 list of largest U.S. public companies with over 100 billion in sales.
David Dillon, a native of Hutchinson, Kansas, was named CEO of Kroger in 2003. He was elected Chairman of the Board of Directors in 2004. David retired as CEO at the end of 2013 and will remain Chairman of the Board of Directors through the end of 2014.
Mergers have played a key role in Kroger's growth over the years. In 1983, 100 years after the company's founding, Kroger merged with Dillon Companies Inc. in Kansas to become a coast-to-coast operator of food, drug and convenience stores. The company now employs 375,000 associates who serve customers in more than 3,500 supermarkets, convenience and jewelry stores under two dozen brands, all of which share the same belief in building strong local ties and brand loyalty with customers.
