Theresa Eaton is the CEO of WECS Renewables, a national distributor and IP developer of electrical, mechanical and hydraulic products for the renewables industry, focused on utility scale wind, solar and battery storage. Prior to WECS, Eaton was a Partner at SCF Partners, an energy focused private equity firm, where she had a focus on North America and the Middle East.
Eaton is passionate about advancing academic programs to provide the renewables industry with a skilled, technical workforce. She is on the board of CREATEenergy, www.createenergy.org, a non-profit that recently received $7.5 million of funding from the National Science Foundation and promotes training of teachers at two-year technical colleges, who teach new wind technicians and solar installers, two of the fastest growing occupations in the US. CREATE has trained over 900 faculty in the United States.
As a member of the American Clean Power Association’s Board of Directors, Eaton has a particular focus on the Workforce Development Committee, helping ACP establish baseline competencies and training requirements, to attract and retain top talent into the renewables industry.
Eaton is featured as an “Energy Superhero” in the children’s book, Everyday Superheroes: Women in Energy Careers (WiseInk, 2022). This book shares the stories, careers, and superpowers of 34 real-life Superheroes who are changing the way we power the planet.
Eaton is on Duke University’s Board of Entrepreneurship & Innovation and the Broach Foundation for Brain Cancer Research, an organization she co-founded focused on glioblastoma research.
Eaton graduated from Duke University with a Bachelor of Arts dual degree and a J.D. from Duke University Law School.
