Are you a young professional seeking to learn from, and network with, some of metro-Detroit’s leaders in the middle market? 

Join ACG Detroit for Momentum Mentoring, the inaugural mentoring event for our NextGen members & sponsors, middle-market industry professionals under 35 years of age. We’re excited to introduce this informal opportunity for attending mentees to connect with more senior ACG Detroit mentors in a series of short, group meetings. 

Momentum Mentoring will connect NextGen attendees with senior ACG Detroit members in a series of short, informal group meetings to discuss: 

  • Personal Career trajectories 
  • Industry Trends 
  • Sector Insights 
  • Career and personal development 

The event will consist of 20-minute conversations (1 Mentor to 3 or 4 Mentees per table), with Mentees rotating from table to table to meet additional Mentors every 20 minutes 

  • Each attendee will participate in a minimum of four - six meetings with mentors  
  • Mentors & mentees can network with sips and snacks when not in meetings 
  • No presentation or preparation is required 
  • Conversation starters will be provided, but NextGen members are encouraged to drive the conversation 
  • Current participating mentors are listed below & will be updated periodically.    
  • We will also provide a list of registered mentees to mentors in advance of the event.

Danielle Bass is a partner at Honigman in the Technology Transactions and Data, Privacy and Cybersecurity Practice Groups who focuses her practice on transactional matters involving information technology, intellectual property, data, media, and entertainment, with an emphasis on commercial transactions. 

Danielle frequently drafts and negotiates various agreements regarding the development, licensing, and/or transfer of trademarks, copyrights, software, or other technology, including software and cloud services licensing, technology outsourcing, and other matters involving the licensing, sale, procurement, and commercialization of intellectual property and technology products and services. In addition, Danielle advises clients on information technology and intellectual property components of mergers and acquisitions and other corporate transactions as well as matters involving data privacy and security, including cybersecurity, across a number of industries. 

Danielle is deeply integrated into some of her clients’ internal legal processes and business and has acted as commercial counsel during hiring lapses and leaves of absence. Danielle consistently works side-by-side with in-house legal teams to assist in developing contract review processes and negotiates agreements on behalf of internal business units. Danielle actively advises the financial arm of a global automotive company, as well as clients in the automotive, logistics, financial, real estate, electronics, information technology, and healthcare sectors. She also regularly advises clients in the media and entertainment industry, including representation of a digital media and marketing company. 

In addition, Danielle is committed to shaping the next generation of transactional attorneys. Along with teaching Transactional Drafting at the University of Michigan Law School, she developed a one-of-its-kind practical course on Technology Transactions at the University of Michigan Law School and University of Chicago Law School, where she also currently teaches.

The firm has managed over $2 Billion in committed capital in seven fund limited partnerships.  Mike is a Founding Partner at the firm and is responsible for deal sourcing, portfolio development and portfolio company board representation, as well as other leadership advisory activities.  Mike is also a member of the firm’s Investment Committee and the Huron Capital Board of Directors.   

Mike has over 35 years of corporate development and investment experience with a variety of publicly traded and privately held companies operating in the United States, Canada and Mexico. Mike has been part of the Huron Capital investment team since its inception in 1999. Prior to Huron Capital, Mike was responsible for strategic M&A and corporate finance activities at Duchossois Industries and Sunbeam Corporation (Japonica Partners).   

Mike participates on the board of the following organizations: University of Michigan – Economic Leadership Council, Downtown Detroit Partnership, Motor City Squash & Education Foundation, Tuning the Student Mind Foundation, Founders Circle – The Catholic Foundation of Michigan.

Maria Duey has over 20 years of experience as a financial executive in publicly traded global manufacturing companies, including Masco Corporation and Horizon Global. She has held senior roles in Corporate Development driving M&A growth, structuring over 20 deals with values ranging from $2 million to $1 billion, and in Investor Relations. Maria has extensive experience in developing and implementing strategic plans, including post-IPO.  

Maria sits on the board of Hooker Furnishings, a publicly traded (NASDAQ: HOFT) designer, manufacturer and importer of furniture for the residential, hospitality and contract markets, and is the Chair of the Compensation Committee. She also is a member of the Regional Advisory Board for Horizon Bank. She is the founder and Chief Executive Officer of Leonine Advisory, a consulting firm specializing in strategic planning and mergers and acquisitions for middle-market companies. Ms. Duey holds an MBA from The Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University and a BA from Michigan State University.

Scott Eisenberg is a highly experienced financial leader with over 35 years in investment banking, turnaround consulting, and M&A transactions. As Founder and Managing Director of Franklin Capital Advisors, he founded a regional investment banking and turnaround consulting firm and currently manages multiple advisory assignments for lower-middle-market clients. Previously, he served as Managing Director at Capstone Partners and was a Co-Founder and Partner of Amherst Partners, where he helped grow the firm to national prominence. He has completed over 75 investment banking transactions and over 35 complex restructuring and receivership engagements. Scott has served on numerous corporate boards, including PC Server and Parts, Speed Grip, and the regional advisory board of Horizon Bank. A respected figure in his field, he holds leadership roles in organizations such as the Turnaround Management Association and the Association for Corporate Growth, where he received the Lifetime Achievement Award.

Matthew Feldman, Managing Director and Sell-Side Practice Leader at Blue River Financial Group, brings over 16 years of investment banking experience. Matt has originated and led corporate finance transactions across a range of industries, including consumer products and retail, industrials, building products, and healthcare. He has extensive experience in all aspects of deal execution and deal management, including sell-side, buy-side and capital raising transactions. He has worked on engagements for clients ranging in size from middle-market businesses to large, publicly held companies. During his career, Matthew has been involved in transactions that totaled over $30 billion in enterprise value. He was recognized as 2020 M&A Rising Star by the Association for Corporate Growth (ACG).   

Prior to joining Blue River, Mr. Feldman functioned as a Director at two leading regional investment banking firms. He was responsible for leading M&A and capital markets transactions. He also took on the role of an investment banking Vice President at Moelis & Company, as well as an investment banking Analyst at Peter J. Solomon Company, both in New York City.   

Matthew earned his Bachelor of Business Administration degree with an emphasis in Finance and a minor in Political Science from the Stephen M. Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan, graduating with high distinction.

Stephanie Flowney serves Warner as a business development manager responsible for initiating strategic and tactical opportunities for the firm. Stephanie works closely with selected partners in the development and execution of business and lead generation for Warner’s Business and Corporate Services Practice Group and also provides business development leadership and guidance for the firm’s Cannabis industry initiatives.

She has a strong background in the corporate, private equity and health care industries, and has over 15 years of extensive experience in managing and cultivating strategic partnerships with high-level business stakeholders and decision makers. She is passionate about her impact on businesses and her community and is an integral player on the Warner team. She believes that what she does every day matters, and her work ethic, connections, trustworthy approach and integrity contribute to her performance and reputation. Jason grew up in the Detroit area, except for two childhood years living in Hong Kong – an impactful time that opened his appreciation for new people, experiences and challenges. Jason graduated from Brother Rice High School and Michigan State University both with Honors.

Jason and his wife have three children. He has coached their basketball and soccer teams and enjoys volunteering at their school. They live in Birmingham, Michigan. Jason has competed in over 26 Mackinac races, winning back-to-back in 2009 and 2010. Jason entered and won his first trail marathon in 2021. Jason did his first triathlon in 2022 and had a podium finish. In his spare time, Jason is an avid reader, enjoying books on leadership, business, military, survival, and psychology.

That penchant for building bridges extends past the individual, as she also enjoys connecting clients to one each other and engaging the wider community through educational seminars and roundtables.

Jennifer began her financial services career at Merrill Lynch in 1996 as a Financial Advisor in San Jose, California. In 2010, she joined J.P. Morgan’s Private Bank in Michigan where she worked closely with high-net-worth individuals and families to address a range of investment, estate, and banking needs. In 2016, she returned to Merrill Lynch and has since received many accolades in recent years including Forbes America’s Top Woman Wealth Advisor, Forbes Best in State Wealth Advisor and Forbes Best in State Wealth Management Team.

Jennifer is also a Certified Divorced Financial Analyst who uses that expertise to equip women going through divorce with the tools and resources necessary to reach financial confidence and independence. Additionally, she co-leads the Merrill Lynch Women’s Exchange in the Detroit area, a platform bringing the women of Merrill together for networking, mentorship and access to content related to enhancing their careers in financial services.

Jennifer earned her Bachelor of Science degree from Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois. She was a varsity four-year letter-winner and co-captain her senior year for Northwestern’s Field Hockey Team.

Born and raised in Northern California, Jennifer now resides in Birmingham, MI with her husband David. They have three adult children all completing their undergraduate studies. She is a currently serving board member for the Judson Center and Childsafe Michigan.

He holds bachelor's degrees in Finance and Accounting from Central Michigan University (1989) and an MBA in Finance from Wayne State University (1995).

Among his business and community affiliations, Mike volunteers as a student mentor for Winning Futures, is an active member of the Association for Corporate Growth, has served on the Board of Advisors for the Finance Department in the School of Business at Central Michigan University, has been a guest lecturer at Central Michigan University, has been a partner for Cornerstone Schools, has been an under graduate Mentor for Central’s School of Business, has taught classes for Junior Achievement, is a retired travel softball and high school softball coach, and is Treasurer of the Oakland Cobras Fastpitch Softball Association.
