Monique Elwell

Monique Elwell

Storyvine
President, COO & Co-Founder

Monique Elwell’s specialty is turning other people’s ideas/inventions/vision into viable business. An “Integrator” in the EOS parlance, or a “Warrior” in the Jungian Archetypes, her three decades of experience in business, finance, consumer insights, marketing and technology allow her to quickly suss out the business model and develop a plan to monetize innovative technology products.

For the last 12 years, she has run Storyvine as President, COO and Co-Founder, building the business from scratch.  Now she oversees Storyvine’s Sales, Marketing, Client Excellence, Development, Finance, HR and Legal domains.

Monique started her career on Wall Street before email was available in the office. She covered Internet Stocks in the late ‘90s for the same Institutional Investor ranked boss, Jonathan Cohen, in three bulge bracket investment banks: Smith Barney, Merrill Lynch and Union Bank of Switzerland. Jonathan and Monique later started up the equity research department for the innovative Wit Capital, whose mission was to crowdsource investments. (Twenty years later, the law finally caught up to Wit’s mission.)

She moved from the quantitative world, to the qualitative world of consumer insights, trends, marketing and brand strategy working at Iconoculture and McClain Finlon, Denver’s largest independent creative agency.

An entreprenuer at heart, she either founded or was an early employee at various start-ups, including:

  • Founder & CEO of Amisto.com: an  internet travel start-up, specializing in travel to Latin American countries right when Expedia was making its debut. Amisto contracted with over 300 independent hotels and resorts in Latin America launching just before the Internet Dot-Boom in March of 2000, followed by September 11. (Timing is half the battle.)
  • VP and Consumer Strategist, Travel & Leisure at Iconoculture: a Consumer Insights & Trends company, sold to Corporate Executive Board.
  • Partner at Conversify: a U.S./UK early pioneer in social media.
