Overview
Body
In 1980, while still in his senior year at the University of Denver, Noel Ginsburg founded Intertech Plastics, a custom injection molding business, manufacturing products for the consumer, packaging, industrial and medical device markets. Today, the company employs over 200 people and operates 24/7.
Soon after, Noel found his passion in civic-minded leadership and has spent nearly 30 years giving back to the Denver community. He melded his business and civic experiences when he became founding Chairman of the Board for CareerWise Colorado, formerly called Business and Schools in Collaboration (BASIC), a statewide non-profit dedicated to building the middle-class by closing the skills gap with experiential learning.
With students in Colorado graduating with a skill gap that is negatively affecting businesses, CareerWise Colorado is building a system of youth apprenticeships across a variety of industries to ensure businesses have a capable workforce and students have a clear career path.
Join Noel, who is running as a Democrat for Governor of Colorado in 2018, as he discusses:
- Why high school graduates today are ill-equipped to enter the workforce.
- How Colorado's education system is not keeping pace with our growing economy
- Why it's important to rethink education, employing innovative and collaborative solutions that involve businesses at the ground-level.
