Founded in 1984, Sage Hospitality set out to be the best hotel owner and operator in the business. Through 35 years of creating valued partnerships with internationally recognized hotel brands, Sage grew a portfolio focusing on running successful select and full-service hotels. In 2006, Sage Restaurant Group was created using Sage’s hotels as the original traffic driver and expanding to local exposure, driving new customers and aggressive results on the food and beverage side of the experience.

Also in 2006, Sage made its first mark in the creative branding field with the Nines, part of Starwood’s Luxury Collection in Portland, Oregon. With the results and reviews pouring in from Sage’s first flagship in branding, the team was hooked, the bar for experiential travel was set high. Sage began to look for more creative opportunities—taking a dive into creating modern luxury experiences, which led to The Curtis Hotel in Denver, The Crawford Hotel at Denver Union Station and The Logan, Philadelphia’s Hotel.

Walter Isenberg, Co-Founder, President & CEO, Sage Hospitality
Not one to slow down, Walter started Sage more than 30 years ago with partner Zack Neumeyer and has only moved forward, fast. As CEO of Sage Hospitality, he directs all company operations including management, real estate investment and brand development, with an emphasis on community giving and teaching the next generation of great leaders. He also partnered with Sage Restaurant Group’s Peter Karpinski in 2006 to create high-volume restaurants within urban hotels, upping the value and revenue for Sage investors. Results driven and creative, Walter is a member of the Union Station Alliance, the group responsible for revitalizing Denver Union Station and creating the high-performing Crawford Hotel. He created Sage’s art program which provides locally curated art in newly built or renovated hotels. Now, he is leading Sage toward a new adventure, creating places that people want to go to, not through; by cultivating new experiences within the walls of Sage Hotels and Restaurants.
Setting the trend for Cornell University graduates at Sage, Walter graduated from the School of Hotel Administration at Cornell University in a year that he refuses to disclose. He is a member of Marriott International’s Owner Advisory Board American Hotel Lodging Association Government Affairs Committee as well as a board member of Visit Denver, who inducted him into the Denver & Colorado Tourism Hall of Fame in 2010. In Denver his community impact is prominent as co-creator of Amp the Cause, the Downtown Denver Partnership, The Children’s Hospital Foundation and the Metropolitan State University Denver Board of Trustees.
Zack Neumeyer, Chairman, Sage Hospitality
Zach is a businessman and civic leader. He is the Chairman of Sage Hospitality and is the Vice Chair of Mobile Accord. He is or has been an investor and board member of companies in the technology, communications, manufacturing, senior housing, banking and service industries. He also works on K-12 education reform in Colorado and nationally. Zack’s civic focus is ensuring that every child in America can fulfill their potential. He works through many organizations focused on making our education system work. These include Board Chair of America Succeeds, Board Member of Colorado Succeeds and Teach For America Colorado. He believes that developing superb leadership is essential to improving our cities, states and country.
Zack is a graduate of Cornell University—along with many others at Sage, who also refuse to disclose their graduation year. Continuing in his passion for education, he has taught or lectured at Cornell University, University of Colorado, Harvard University and The University of Denver.
Celia Dietrich, Executive Chair & Founder, Dietrich Partners
As founder and executive chair of management consulting firm Dietrich Partners, Celia is disrupting the professional services world with a radically simple approach – focusing work around people first, listening and building trust, and providing clients with the specific expertise and context to deliver sustained results. Drawing upon her tenure with firms like PwC and RGP, Celia leads more than 30 team members to advise clients ranging in size from middle market to Fortune 100 companies across a multitude of industries, in order to maximize the value of transactions, deliver key programs and optimize overall performance.
Celia holds a BS in Accounting from Metropolitan State College of Denver and received her MBA from the University of Colorado. She is an inactive State of Colorado CPA (in good standing), on the Board of Trustees with Children’s Hospital Colorado, an Advisory Board Member of Vectra Bank of Colorado, a Board Member with the Anschutz National Mental Health Innovation Center, and an Advisory Board Member of Johnson Financial / JFG Wealth Management Group.
