The Commission on Fiscal Stability and Economic Growth was created by Governor Malloy to confront Connecticut’s mounting fiscal and economic challenges. The Commission issued its recommendations, some of which were adopted by the General Assembly, but many of the Commission’s recommendations for long term structural reforms were not addressed. Please join the Commission’s Co-Chair, Jim Smith, Chairman and former CEO of Webster Bank, as he provides his reflections on the Commission’s recommendations and shares his views for how the State of Connecticut can begin to remedy its deep-seated economic challenges in this important election year.
