Bio:
Molly Malloy Cooper received her Ph.D. from the Ohio State University in 2003 before joining the faculty. She currently serves as a Senior Lecturer of Economics and as an Undergraduate Advisor. Her research areas include economic history, economics of immigration, and racial wage gaps, focusing on the economic progress of Japanese American immigrants to the United States in the twentieth century.
She has taught as an adjunct instructor at Denison University and at Ohio Dominican University. She has taught courses on Economic History, Current Economic Issues, and Gender in Labor Markets. She has developed new courses for the department including Freakonomics, based on the best-selling books by Stephen Levitt and Stephen Dubner, and The Economics of Gender in Labor Markets.
The 2016 Election will undoubtedly leaded to changes in U.S. economic policy.
This discussion will look at the hotly contested issues of this election
cycle: health care, immigration, tax policy, and stagnant wage and inequality.
Ms. Cooper will summarize the current status of each of these topics and
President-Elect Donald Trump's stated policies with respect to each and will
analyze the potential impact on the economy of each of these policies.
