Clarke Barnes has been advising clients on a myriad of taxation issues for many years, and is particularly sought out for his expertise in domestic and cross border mergers, acquisitions and reorganizations of corporations and partnerships. He is also the Co-Managing Partner and Leader of the Corporate/Commercial group in Calgary.

From acting for local, owner-managed organizations to major multinationals, Clarke advises companies on many facets of complex tax matters including local, national and international restructuring, oil and gas matters, flow through financings, and inbound and outbound transaction structuring.

Prior to joining Fasken in 2010, he had a tax practice at another large Canadian law firm.

Clarke regularly writes and speaks on tax issues affecting Canadian businesses.
